my new yorkie My puppy rolls in the grass, in what I think are worms or poop, as he stinks when I bring him in and I have to give him a bath everytime he does it. Any way to stop it or just grin and bear it and give him a bath every time? |
To be quite honest I think most dogs do that. I know Murfee does if I give him a chance:eek: then it's bath time. Patty |
I agree. I think it's just a dog thing! |
Mine like to do it to. You would think they would get tired of the bath thing, but no they just keep rolling. |
we dont have grass, but when lexi does get the chance to be on grass, she rolls around in it.. i think cause its cool for them and it scratches their backs.... |
I think most Yorkies enjoy having a good roll in things that smell good to them! Little buggers! |
Yup my Yorkie does the same. Thats just a joy of owning a Yorkie. |
Speaking of rolling, my sisters new baby rolled in a dead snake last week, omg you want to talk stink:eek: all her furkids rolled in this thing, her hubby came home found it and buried it, she had to give all 3 each 2 baths:p |
 It's kinda cute actually! haha! Welcome to YT! Do you have pics of your little stinker? :D |
You could put him on his lead when you bring him out - and teach him not to roll... |
Oh yeah.... The stinkier it is, the more they want to roll in it! Funny thing....We were camped on a Gulf beach last week and Higgins LOVED rolling in the sand after a swim. He also has a WONDERFUL time retrieving shells from the water. So, we brought home one of his finds, a nice big (and clean) oyster shell. He was so delighted to find it in his luggage! And rolled around on that shell for 5 minutes! Happy as a clam!...er....oyster |
Cesar's book said that dogs love to roll in the dead carcasses of other animals. I think it's supposed to disguise their scent in the wild or something. Yeah - I know I definitely don't recognize him!! Welcome!!! |
