Any idea how long a poop cycle is? Hello! Sorry for the gross question - but does anyone have an idea how long it takes for a 10 week old pup's food to become poop? i.e., if she chewed something, when might I expect to see it come out? Thanks in advance! Cheryl |
What did she chew? :D I don't know for sure, but it's not more than a day or so. Mine typically go after they eat (twice a day) so I assume what they eat in the morning comes out in the evening. |

Well, I'm being totally paranoid. It was a week ago that she chewed a part of a receiving blanket. It seems like she is not pooping much today, so I was hoping there wasn't a blockage or something. I have NO clue about so much about dogs! I worry about my little girl! The past week though have been normal poops, so i'm sure maybe she's just a little constipated tonight or something. Thanks so much for your speedy reply! Cheryl |
You can give her canned pumpkin if she is constipated. Not canned pumpkin pie filling, which is near it at the store. 100% canned pumpkin. Don't feed too much or you'll get diarrhea. |
I would think after a week in a 10 week old, you'd be safe. Nothing stays in a puppy that long normally!! And puppies do have a lot of fluctuation in their "habits". So just be watchful and make sure things get back to normal soon. If not, a call to a nice vet with a good bedside manner for us nervous parents can't hurt. |
THANKS you guys SO MUCH!! Thanks so much for your comments. Things seem to be back to normal this morning. I appreciate your suggestions -- great to know about the pumpkin too! Cheryl |
its a 24 hour cycle, some things work through faster..my jazz is a known eater of strange things and we have gotten it down to a science when to look for it again. |
