RoxyJosMom | 07-30-2007 04:39 AM | After reading and re-reading the article, I don't think it's as bad as it sounds. Pet therapy works wonders and for people who can't own a pet it's a great idea. And for dog-lovers who can't have a pet where they live, they can spend some time with one. I think if the right dogs are used, it's no different than going to doggie day-care. I'm sure she thoroughly checks out the "renters" before putting one of her dogs into their hands. I can't imagine there's a big demand so the dogs at a different place every day, so it's like a child with different babysitters. When my dtr was small, I had to work 2 full-time jobs and she had 2 - 3 different babysitters every day. I was the only person she didn't call Mommy. Broke my heart. Thank God it only lasted about 6 mo. But, she was fine.) I think it's a great idea if it's done right. If she is just letting the dogs go to anyone, then she should be shut down. |
