Biddy is SO skinny! Biddy is all ribs. You can feel her spine on her back. She's a year and a half and still eats puppy food. She eats a can of wet food a day and I leave the dry out all day and she nibbles at it during the day. What else can I do to fatten her up?!?! ( I wish I had this problem!! ) |
Oh Simon is the same way! He is so high energy I have a hard time keeping weight on him. (I'm with ya, wish I had that problem) My vet recommended giving him Nutri-Cal even though is one and a half. I'm interested to see if anyone else has this problem too..... |
Yeah - she is super hyper, not like Tucker who is fat and lazy!! They are exact opposites!! |
That is odd. Do you think any other pets are eating her food? Our other dog and cat are great at sneaking and eating Mya's puppy food. We feed Mya on our bed now *eyeroll* we can watch her eat and hand feed her if she is acting fussy. |
My vet recommends Nutri-cal still too and Sammi is 18 months old...I give them to her every morning with her Hi-Vite Drops |
Try the meat rolls from Natural balance. You'll have a porker in no time. ;) |

Too funny! SO are mine. Hallie is happy as can be sitting around chewing on something and Simon is in overdrive at all waking hours ;) |

No - we watch her eat her food because she's so skinny! |
That's cute - but I think she's just built frail or small framed - Cheri is like that and I always call her a weiner dog but in reality she is the right weight for her body - Now it's when you CAN'T feel those ribs that you should worry - I think your baby's adorable ! |

Thank you! Yeah - she does look like a weiner dog (especially when she's wet!). The vet has never commented that she's too skinny, it just makes me nervous - I can almost wrap one hand completely around her belly! |
Oh, I think Biddy is beautiful! My Tucker is 10 weeks and he takes his food out one piece at a time and walks around chewing it, then goes back for another. I keep telling him he is working it off as fast as he is eating it! Our Lab on the other hand weighed 50 pounds when we got him at a year old and is now 65! He's a cow! I always think Tucker is too skinny but I guess I don't know what normal feels like! |
brownie was the same way i use to stuff everything in him now hes a fat bear lol dont worry |
Maybe as she gets older her metabolism will slow down? I know mine has and I'm only 26! |

It totally disapeers in your 40's....wish my mom gave me a heads up ! |
Gucci is not very thin, but you can feel her spine a bit. She eats her meat rolls and some of the dry kibble. I hope she gains some weight soon. Maybe I should start giving her Nutrical. She is 11 months. |
Zack is skinny too! (16 weeks - 4.5 lbs) I wonder if Yorkies have different body types like people? He is very healthy, active and eats pretty good. I wish he would get alittle more meat on his bones. Weenie dog...that's funny...but I was starting to wonder myself! |

I wouldn't worry about it if the vet doesn't think she is under-weight. If she has energy then she is obviously getting enough nutrition to keep her going (and going fast for that matter). Being skinny will actually be a good thing when she gets older b/c they are prone to hip/knee problems and extra weight just makes that worse. ps. I can feel every rib and piece of spine on Sydney too...but the vet said that she is the perfect weight. :) |

Thanks - that makes me feel better! |
Chai has a high metabolism also , but Hefner is a little chub. She eats twice as much as him too bu tshe is twice as active. He sleeps more. I can feel the ridge of her back bone so i would be interested in any fattening up for her as well. |
