PLEASE HELP, questionnes! 2 Attachment(s) I know, my Spanish is bad. But I was thinking about getting a silky terrier, or a pomaeranian, or SOMETHING, I want Bette to have a brother. I want to create a family for her down the line with daddy, mommy and litter but not for the next couple of years. And I was thinking of getting her a brother now, that might be daddy down the line, sounds gross but they aren't related! And there is this silky terrier that was born on the exact same day as her, different breeders, and all, BUT, I don't want him to hump her or get her pregnant so early. But when he reaches sexual maturity in a few months and she does, I'm sure it'll be like that right? So should I just get a girl as her sister in the meantime? I heard girl dogs don't get along. Are they're any tips that will make them get along, because Betty is extremely timid, but I don't want her to be lonely during the day. what should I do? Boy? Girl? Spay/Neuter? Tips? Hellllllp! {Pic 1 } Betty {Pic 2} Potential brother, Poochie |
From what I have heard girl dogs get along just fine. There has only been one case that I have heard about 2 boys getting in a fight, and one died :(. Personally, if you want to breed them, and they meet breeding criteria, you should get a yorkie. Good luck with your choice. |
Girls get along fine with girls. I would get another girl and then after giving it considerable thought and research, if you still want to breed, look for a suitable yorkie as a mate. Silkies are a larger breed than yorkies and would not make a suitable stud for your female. |
I think, spay her, neuter him and get a breed you love that will be about her size..... and ENJOY! d |
I have two female Yorkies and they get along GREAT!!! They are like best friends. :) |
I also have a male and two girls. They all get along. Play, Play and play some more. It's so much fun just watching them..... and they also take care of each other. |
I have 2 girls and one boy. They all great along great. |
But I don't want him humping her yet! Should I just get a girl until I'm ready? |
Now my breeder has six yorkies..4 girls and 2 boys....2 of the girls do not get along with each other at all!!! I house sat for a week for her and was given strict instructions that everyone could go out together except the 2 girls!! don't know why they don't like each other but they don't!!! So i guess it just depends on the yorkies and their personalities |
I have 2 girls and 1 boy and the girls don't fight. Also my boy doesn't hump either of them, and he's not neutered yet. But he's never been a humper, but i think some dogs are so you would have to be careful and keep them seperated when you go out. |

I might be wrong but it looks like puppyparadise in the 2nd pic.... are u thinkn about getting a pip from http://puppyparadise.com/? |
Yessss. It's a grommer that a lot of people in my family go to. And I was wary about the thing, because I know petstore are bad and whatever, and they say they are a broker. So, I'm still unsure, but if the puppies are healthy, and happy, and get along with Betty, I could care less where she coems from. I know everyone has these strong views on puppy mills, and I think they are wrong too, but I won't let a puppy rot because of where it comes from. It isn't their fault, and we shouldn't punish them, if their gurgling healthy puppies, but look to our law enforement people to crack down on the mills. A puppy is a puppy is a puppy. And he's cute. |
If you plan to breed, you should get another yorkie - there is really no reason to breed mixed breed dogs. My advice though is to get another puppy you like (any breed) and spay and neuter them both and just have them as your pets as breeding is a lot of work and requires a lot of time and research. |
I'd might get another girl if I were you. You can find a stud yorkie when you're ready. You'll have to pay for the service, but in the meantime you don't have to worry about her getting pregnant to soon. |
