Thanks for such a warm welcome! 3 Attachment(s) Molly is going to the vet tomorrow. I will keep everybody updated. We had been looking for a third dog and decided on a Yorkie. We also wanted an older dog. We thought that would be the best fit for our family. We actually got called on Friday night to foster Molly (our first foster). I said YES!! She was dropped off on Friday night and later that night we called the rescue group and asked if we could keep her. Some might think we decided too soon but she is a perfect fit. Lily and Grace have been ignoring her but don't seem to mind at all that she is here. Last night Dave, Lily, Grace and Molly were all curled up on the couch watching a movie. Nobody stirred for 3 hours! I would say she is one of the family! Can't wait until she gets her teeth cleaned. I have never smelled such stinky breath for such a little girl! She loves to lick my face, so I let her then I have to go and wash off! I don't mind at all. She is a real sweetheart! I have attached pictures of Molly, Lily and Grace. Lily is the darker cairn, Grace is lighter. Isn't Molly a cutie pie! Thanks again for all the nice messages! Lynn |

Molly is beautiful...all your girls. Congrats on such a beautiful family. I wonder if I could ask how she came to foster care. |
I don't think she looks her age at all. She still looks like a puppy. Congratulations on your beautiful family. May you enjoy many years with all of them. |
Molly The girl that dropped her off told me that Molly belonged to her grandma who has died. So she took Molly. The girl was very young with a baby and a boyfriend. She seemed very upset to have to give Molly up but I must say her boyfriend didn't seem upset at all. I couldn't get much more out of her. She was not that forthcoming with information so I stopped asking. It seems to us that Molly was loved but neglected (based on her health). She did say that they were hardly ever home. I am glad she was mature enough to realize that Molly needed another home. We've had a few other yorkies visit the house but for one reason or another (one kept humping Lily and one was pretty aggressive) we realized they would not fit. We wanted to make sure Lily and Grace were happy. It seems that Molly is the perfect fit. I can't believe I have three females no one is trying to be the boss. They were just all three drinking out of the same water bowl! Sorry to keep running on and on...I am pretty excited and happy! Lynn |
Molly is beautiful. They are all gorgeous. It sounds like she has adopted you, too!:D |
You have 3 beautiful dogs! I am so glad to hear that Molly has found a perfect home with you. It sounds like she was due for some love & attention. I will be anxious to hear what the vet says about Molly's health concerns. You have received some good ideas from others on the reasons she may be struggling. The only thing I might add, is besides needing her teeth cleaned, her breath may be effected by the food she has been eating. I believe a quality dog food (human grade) can make all the difference in breath. Some fresh veggies might help her too. :welcome4: Glad you found YorkieTalk! :aimeeyork :) yorkiesmiles & Bubba :aimeeyork & Roxie :aimeeyork |
No advice on the bladder, just wanted to say how nice it is that you adopted an older dog with concerns. Sounds like Molly hit the jackpot! |
Molly is very lucky!! I am new here too. You brought back memories for me as I had a Carin T when I was a young girl. |
Welcome to YT. The girls are all beautiful. I think it's so wonderful of you to adopt an older dog. It sounds like she's already giving you a lot of pleasure. |
What beautiful girls! You would never know Molly's age by looking at her. Now, only if we knew the secret to that.... |
Molly is adorable, and Grace and Lily look like the perfect sisters. I love Cairns. My 11-year-old male rescue has crystals in his urine. The vet said that they could eventually turn into a stone and would have to be surgically removed because of his size. So he put him on a prescription diet that is supposed to help break the crystals down. It's been several months or so, and it hasn't got worse so I'm hopeful. Who knows, females may be able to pass them just fine. You might ask your vet if a urine sample would help. It took me weeks to get one. Good luck! |
Molly is so beautiful!! Congratulations again :) And your cairn terriers are beautiful too! I love cairn terriers :) |
