What should I put Dakota in?
 
I am gettting ready to go out to the fabric store, and Petsmart, and I have to take Dakota, because no-one is here to watch her and I am scared to leave her with Aubrey right now. I ordered her a carrier and it will not be here until next week. Do the people at the fabric store care if I jsut walk in there with her, has anyone ever done this before?

I would just carry her in your arms..i bet the staff in the fabric store will love her! Have you got a soft open top shoulder bag? you could always sit her in that temporarily..when my Heidi was very young, and i was a 19 year old student at the time..i used to carry her around in a little canvas shoulder bag..she loved it and used to rest her little head on the side! i just used to put a little towel or blanket in the bottom to make it snug for her.

No, I have this open purse that she could go in, and I could just keep it unzipped. And put a little blanket in the bottom, that might work.

lets face it...most dog purses are not THAT much different to a shopping bag...as long as shes comfy and has enough air..she should be fine!:)

Yeah, I will just carry her, if they tell me to leave, they just won't get my business. I am also making a run to Petmart.. I hope no-one comes up to me and ask to pet her!!!!!! I hate not having my pet bag yet :(. Wish me luck! I will let you guys know how it goes when I get back.

Goodluck! I dont think a fabric store would mind. I have taken Reeses in the mall before..just had to stay clear away from the food court. However..walmart has never let me get away with taking him in. The crabby old lady at the door says "No dogs! We sell food here!" I said..."I am only going to the pet section to find a collar that fits I promise thats all." Crabby says.."No dogs allowed period!" I said.."Fine! Ill go somewhere else but first Im going to call your manager and tell him you just cost him a sale!" ;) I hate when people are rude right off the bat. It makes me take revenge. lol. Oh and yes...I DID call! ;) He apologized for her actions and said it would be taken care of but that they arent suppose to allow dogs b/c of food and people who might be shopping there that are allergic to dogs..etc. But said that since I had him pretty well hidden in a carrier purse and went in garden center and pet stuff is right at garden center he would have let it slide. Lol.
Alright Ill hush now...lol...goodluck and let us know how it goes!!! :thumbup:

I'd give it a try just carrying her in. They'll probably just love her.

I used to bring Sadie with me to the fabric store all the time...One day this little snot of a girl (she worked there) came up to me and said "You're not supposed to have dogs in here" I just looked at her and told her Sadie was a service dog!! She looked at me like I had 3 heads but, never said it again! Nobody else had ever said a word to me any time I brought her in...matter of fact they all loved her. I would bring a pillow in with me, put it in where a child would sit and put the strap (from the carriage) through her harness and she would just sit there while I was shopping.

I have heard a lot of people say they can't get away with walmart.
