I Cannot Believe This Just Happened !!!! Sitting here at the computer and my lil one jumped on the sofa and while I was watching her she decided to squat and potty on my sofa    She has been doing so well with using her potty pads and only on occasion these past few days has decided to poop by the front door and has been missing her potty pads by a few inches.......I know she has been out of sorts this past week with her teething not wanting to eat, I got one of her molars that she was chewing on this morning....could the teething also effect her potty habits...Please Help :( :( as I am at a loss at to why this is happening all of a sudden????? |
Emma did that randomly when she was a teething puppy too, and Milli peed on our bed probably 5 times when she was younger too. My theory on it is that they don't always know they have to go until they have to GO, so they just go whenever wherever if they're too busy playing or getting attention from you. I also think that when they're teething-just like human kids-they get "off". They can be cranky, act sick, and have diarihea for no reason at all when teething too. Just correct and use positive reinforcement, and you'll get through this. Take her out/to her pee pad often, especially while she's in this stage, and if she does what she's supposed to, PRAISE, PRAISE, PRAISE! |
Thank you so much for your input.....This is all so new to me...I just feel so bad for her as I don't know what I can do to help her feel better... :( |
she will be fine. My Rocky did the same thing, the very day I brought him home he peed and pood on his pad and I thought "great this dog is a genius". The next few weeks were potty hell lol |

That is a good theory about the teething. Sometimes they do just have an accident that you cannot explain. Quote:

Sometimes they do it out of spite [naughtiness] and they want to get your attention, etc. The best thing is when they are a puppy and teething, try not to yell at things she does wrong but PRAISE the heck out of her when she does things right [goes on the pad]. She'll remember that only ''good'' things WILL get your attention. I found this works with my Daisy. She is pad trained too but every now and then, say we're gone for too long, she'll leave a present at the front door for when I get home. :D |
Oh, no!!! Hope she gets back on track, FAST! |
Molly did that last night to me:eek: she peedd right in front of me in the living room, i picked her up and told her no no potty out side, took her right out and she peed again, we had been away for awhile so maybe she held it to long:confused: good luck to you:) |
Teething is really painful, and maybe she just forgot herself. I'd keep trying to get her to go where she's suppose to, but maybe forgive an accident while she's going through this. |
