I got DAKOTA!!! Ok, I got Dakota this evening, and shes a doll. I brought her home and introduced her to Aubrey, hes crazy about her, but I have to keep him back because she is very scared, she will cry. She has not used the bathroom, or eating or drank anything. Should I be worried? She started to sniff Aubrey, then she would cry. Is this normal? She is in her cage now, with the door open. |
She is just a little scared. It will take some time. How old is she? I cant wait for pictures of both of them. |
9 Weeks. Should I be worried about her not eating/drinking? |

don't want to scare you...but just look out and make sure she is getting some calories somehow. |
I almost forget, I meant to give her some earlier, and I forgot! Yes, I have some and I will go give her some now. Thanks so much for the advice!!!!! |
Awww poor baby. Maybe you should spend some extra time holding and cuddling her tonight. Congratulations on your new baby! She probably just needs some time. I hope she settles soon. |

She is a doll. Most puppies are nervous when they go to a strange house with strange dogs. She sniffed Aubrey and found she doesn't know him. All is new and scary to her and that's why she isn't eating or drinking yet. Just keep offering her some real food and give lots of love and she will do fine. ;) |
She is so cute!! Dawn |
Congrats! She is cute:aimeeyork |

4 Attachment(s) Oh my Goodness! She is a doll! it took a couple days for Mattie to get use to Max. I took Some Nutrical on the tip of my finger and she finally licked it off. it took a little bit of trying but she does it fine now. Just make sure she is drinking water also. If she isn't if you have a small dropper just put some water in it and put it in the side of her mouth. An very slowly squirt some into her mouth. My vet showed me how to do that when My libby wasn't eating or drinking. It works! Just love her and hold her. She has to get use to you and her new home. YT is a wonderful place for a wealth of information. I know it has helped me thru everything. There is a lot of wondeful, caring, knowledgeable people here. Give her hugs and kisses from Max, Mattie, Libby, Bobo & Me! |

I think I am about to go to bed. Dakota hasn't used the bathroom, and when I take her outside she jsut follows me around, and can't really tell if shes doing anything. Should I take her out in the middle of the night? |
Awwwww !! How adorable is she !! :D :D |
When we brought Violet home a week or so ago, she didn't want to eat the Iams Smart puppy that the breeder was getting her to eat. I took some advice on here that I read and went and bought some tasty soft puppy food (hills was the brand I bought). I softened some Iams puppy smart and mixed it in with the wet food. She ate that right up. My understanding is that when they are that small (violet was 9 wks also), you just have to get them to eat whatever you can. After those first couple of days, I was able to get Violet back to just the (softened w/ water) Iams smart puppy. It worked for us, hopefully it will for you too. |
