Sorry, I fixed the link. Candy passed away a little over a year before I got Lexi. When she passed I was sure I didn't want anymore pets, then a year later I started looking but not planning to buy. My husband searched and found Lexi, He surprized me with her and said Happy Valentines Day. I had no clue he was even looking let alone buying. I fell in love with Lexi the second I saw her. |

Oh Candy was so pretty. Im so sorry for your loss but im glad that you had 13 yrs of happiness together. TY for sharing her pics with us. RIP Little Candy :angel2dl: |
I Understand... Your Candy was so pretty. :) I know you miss her ...these sweet fur kids take over our entire hearts... But..I know her spirit is with you.... And its because of her...that you opened your heart to another little yokie named Lexi to love.... ;) *** I lost my black toy poodle of 19 years named Cheyenne..had her from age 20 till then*** We had grown up somewhat..and I think I just couldn't get passed her presence in my life not being there~ I miss her everyday. It took me a good while to get over her...but I did get another toy poodle. Different color...She was an Apricot named Annie after the Broadway musical. <<<Hince my Name here on Yokie Talk..."Annadoodle">>> Annie died at the age of 3 yrs. old...(that liked to of done me in) She was born and had AIHA...(Auto Immune Hemolytic Anemia) Her 3 yr. old shots put her into a complete Immune collapse..we lost her 2 days later after a blood transfusion trying to save her. I now have Miss Sophie :D ...completely different Breed..never owned a Yorkie...Health was my first priority before anything else in getting her...and I'm smitten...she is a love. :p I also believe that these doggies here on earth are fur angels.....those of us that choose to love them...are touched forever... ;) |
Aww... what a beautiful baby girl she was. I'm sure that she misses you too. I know how hard it is... I lost my best friend Mickey of 14 years last July. And even though it's been a year, it still is so painful to think of. I also just recently got my little Deegan, it does help, but he certainly doesn't fill Mickey's paws. They are each their own personalities. The worst thing was when I first got Deegan and took him to his first vet visit, they put me in the same room that we were in when I had to put Mickey down..... it was heart wrenching! |

Candy had a very tiny throat (about the size of a Bic ink tube in a pen). She was fine when I got her, and then when she was about 6 months they had to put a tube in her throat to open it. She was fine after the whole ordeal. She was healthy and happy til she hit 10 then she started having breathing issues, and seizures, this was controlled by meds. Even with her illness she was happy and doing well. They did get worse over the next few years and at 13 1/2 she had a stroke while I sat next to her bed holding her while her little body was shaking. When coming out of the stroke she had one last and very bad seizure. I held her tongue down and rubbed her belly til she came out of it. When she did she couldn't walk, her little head was turned to the left and she couldn't move it. I rushed her to the ER and that is when they told me she was parilized on her left side. She would never beable to eat, drink, walk, sit, play, or breath on her own again and she had to be put down. I bought Candy when I was almost 16 and I was clueless. When she died I felt like I was going to loose it. That was one of the hardest things I have everhad to go through. Not all tiny Yorkies have health issues and some larger Yorkies have health issues (same as any other breed) I have been told time and time again that when they are this little it shortens their life span. True or not I don't know. |
Oh Ok poor little girl. So her illness wasnt becuse of her small size. She became sick. Thanks so much for responding to my post, After almost losing my Gus I find myself a bit over protective. (I don't think there is such a thing when it comes to these little guys) but my family seems to think I am. I hate to leave him alone with my son or husband for fear that they will hurt him with rough play. But they have to understand,,,, I almost lost him and even he is tatally back and healthy, I am still going to be overly protective. Thanks again!!! Monica |
I am glad you had 13-1/2 years with her and I am sure she is looking over you guys from rainbow bridge |
