Go, DH! Omgosh I nearly died trying to hold my laughter until we were in the car. My mother in law is constantly saying things about Susanah. Things like: "I don't believe she's a pretty as that other one you had." "She's going to be a big dog." "Her hair looks funny. She's too dark." Basically annoying negative comments. Well, she has this chihuahua named Peppy. Last night she started in on how huge Susanah is (its interesting to note here that she is LESS THAN HALF the size of Peppy :rolleyes: ). So DH looked at her and said, "You know, Peppy has little ears for a chihuahua. Are you sure he's pure? Is he AKC like Susanah or is he registered elsewhere?" It was just so funny that DH is the one who said it. Normally its ME saying it and he's clapping his hand over my mouth and dragging me out of there. |
Good for him. I hope it put her in her place. |

Oh I pop off my little comments. He just beat me to it this time! I would also like to mention that I do love Peppy. He IS a funny looking chihuahua, but he is cute and very sweet. |

Nothing even remotely interesting. Just said he had papers but she never bothered sending them in, and insisted that Peppy (who weighed in at 9lbs on his last vet visit) is a "teacup" chihuahua. That's the other thing she says about Susanah. "If ya'll couldn't afford a REAL one, the least you could have done is get a miniature." :rolleyes: |

Ha! Isn't it nice when someone else comes to your aid with dear sweet mother-in-law's? Mine likes to have negative things to say about every thing except the cute grandson's I have given her! She even tries to say that my natural curly hair HAS to be a perm! |

Sounds like Peppy has been hangin' out at Taco Bell ...:) No offense intended to the parents of other chi furbabies who are the equivalent to Yorkie teapots. (I have a teahouse so would be the last of anyone to remark on above average sizes!):D |

That is where you are wrong. Of COURSE they exist because Dolores, who is one of her oldest and dearest friends has one, you see. (notice the sarcasm). She is elderly and would argue with a brick wall so usually I just smile politely and roll my eyes whenshe isn't looking. |

Awwwww, dear sweet mother-in-law. :rolleyes: Your puppy looks adorable in your avatar! When we owned our Westie, my mother-in-law was always wrinkling her nose at her and wouldn't even pet her. Finally, one day, I just flat ask her if she didn't like Madi?!! Her reply, "She's just not cute...pretty ugly actually." :mad: I said, well, we think she's beautiful....especially your son that got her for me!" This coming from a woman that thinks that her Chi/Rat Terrier mix is gorgeous. No offense to those that own those two breeds....this particular dog is scary (looks and MEAN personality!). To each their own. :) Maybe your mother-in-law is just trying to bug you....I think mine was. Tammy |
