He ate half a pencil!!!!! Paddington is sitting next to my computer chair chewing on his bully stick, which is what he normally does when I am at the computer. A few moments ago, I realized it isn't his bully stick he is chewing on, but a PENCIL!!!! He had snuck into our French exchange student's bedroom and STOLE a pencil and ate HALF of it!!!! I have asked Antoine to leave his bedroom door shut, but he forgets. Last week, Bear ate half of a candy bar from his suitcase; everyone in the family was worried to tears over that. I think he learned about keeping food out of reach, but still forgets to close the door. When I went into the hallway, sure enough Antoine's door was open, and there was also a chewed up cake of soap, a travel sized shampoo bottle, and a plastic bag, in the hall. I am worried about the pencil and the soap... he ate literally half of the pencil- wood, graphite, and all.... the soap was just chewed on a bit, it didn't look like any chunks were eaten... AGH! -O |
Peanut ate a pencil when he was a puppy. He will be OK.Just check his poop for the next couple of days. |
I think I would be worried about lead poisoning. You might want to be safe and give your vet a call. |
he should be fine but if anything go to the vet |

I've been watching him and he doesn't seem to be in pain or anything. I will call the vet if I notice anything. I am worried about the splinters passing through his system. Can they stab him do you think? It's been about 2o minutes... I wonder if it would be mostly through by now??? The neighbors are going to think I've lost a screw when they see me outside examining poo in the morning! -O |
wow, time flies.. it's been way over 20 minutes! It's been over an hour! I think it should be through his system and just waiting to be pooped out....??... he won't go though, but that's normal since it is raining and he NEVER poops outside when it rains. He is too good to get his feet wet in the grass  -O |
