Puggles and Yorkies????? does anyone have any info on how puggles and yorkies get along? I have the opportunity to get a little girl puggle and I don't know what to do??????? HELP PLEASE!!! |
well, I don't have a "puggle' but I do have beagles on the back of the farm and a pug in the house. My pug is sweet as she can be but at 28 lbs is just too playful and powerful for the yorkies. i have to keep them gated from each other. She was running in circles with one of my yorkies yesterday and rolled her over and over. My yorkies weigh five pounds or less. now, the beagles are as sweet and even tempered as can be. and gentler. BTW, I recently turned down a Pug owner that wanted to buy one of my babies to be a playmate to a Pug. |
puggles and yorkies My daughters bf friend has a puggle(20 lbs) that is a month older than my 2.8 lb yorkie. I was very leary of them playing together, because he is such puppy, wild acting, very active and my Bobo, had a liver shunt and had surgery and he just has never really had the puppy attitude that some have. This past weekend they actually were out in the yard together some and the puggle really did well with Bobo. we did not have any problems. It probably has alot to do with both their personalities though. |
my friend that called and asked if I was interested said the dog will only weigh 10 lbs. but I'm skeptical |
My step-sister got a Puggle puppy the same time I got my Yorkie puppy and her Puggle is one month older. As tiny puppies they played well together and they still play well together. Sometimes her Puggle gets a little rough and since they are both still puppies (10 and 11 months) they are very hyper when they play and with my Yorkie being the whopping 6 pounds that he is compared to her 35 pound Puggle I get a little nervous.(And her puppy is so large and still a puppy so she is pretty clumsy so she fall's a lot on my puppy) I think it depends on a couple things: 1. Most importantly their personalities (levels of aggressiveness) 2. The size difference (her puggle was "supposed" to stay below 20lbs, as the mother was the heaviest at 20lbs, but its already 35 at 11 months) 3. The ages of both dogs We don't live together, but if we did i'm sure they would eventually settle down when together, but for now they constantly play and I usually feel uneasy unless i'm watching them. My other sibling also got a puppy at the same time we got both of ours and he got a Boston who is also currently 11 months. Their dog is much calmer and a little more passive, so she plays a little better with my puppy. Sorry this was long and rambling! I think what i'm trying to say is it depends on the personalities of both dogs!! Would I feel comfortable buying a puggle with my yorkie?? YES. Good luck! I hope this helped you out a little!;) |
My aunt had a pug one time, and she was very sweet but when she played, she was rough, rough, rough!!! She was pretty small, I'd say about 8 lbs., but she was a strong one!!! |

I live in an apartment.......and although it's a duplex Brandi has full run of the upstairs as well as my diningroom/kitchen......so I wouldn't be able to separate them......I wouldn't want Brandi to feel "punished" because I got another dog......I'm thinking now just might not be the right time..... |
My daughter has two pugs...."Chongo/Precious" they are both very active solid strong dogs (20/15 lbs, 2 yrs/9 mths) and I worry about them around my Lil Miss Izzie (5 mths, 5 lbs). She is very active and playful and loves all dogs, but I worry that they my get a bit to rambunctious and hurt her.... |
