Knitting for your furbaby... 2 Attachment(s) Does anyone knit for their babies? I am an intermediate knitter an a bit addicted to knitting (when I'm not catching waves) so I went online today in search of knitting patterns for dogs. I was surprised at how many books there are! These are the two I bought to start with. I love the little sweater on the Yorkie in the first one. I think I'm going to make that as my first project :) So, any other knitters out there? |
I am a beginner. I have knitted a scarf. I wonder how hard that pattern is? I love that sweater too. |
It doesn't look hard at all. I bet it's beginner friendly :) As soon as I get the book I'll let you know. Maybe we can knit-a-long together;) |
I can't knit but I can crochet. |
I do a bit of knitting and crochet...self taught since I'm a lefty :) |

sweater for furbaby I can both knit and crochet. The best sweaters I've made haven't used a pattern. I just knit/crocheted a rectangle that went from her collar to just before her tail. The width was wide enough to come halfway down her side. Then I just made a strip that connected the rectangle around the front of her neck. Sometimes I made a strap that went around her middle, with a button to attach. I don't know if that makes sense, but it's a lot easier to put on than trying to get her paws into the sleeves!! |
I knit and crochet also. crocheted for years and just learned how to knit this past winter. if you do a search on YT there are threads that give patterns. there are so many free patterns on the internet. I think I have downloaded them all and printed them out at one time or another. you get one made post the pics. |
I knit and crocet too. I love the sweater on the second photo...I'm gonna have to check out those books. I never thought they'd have patterns for dog! Thanks for posting them! |
I have been knitting/croching all my life. Jessica has way too many sweaters and dresses already. Some of them you can see in my profile....:) |
I don't know how to knit, but I do know how to crochet. I was thinking about making Jake a few things, but I haven't had time to look for a good pattern. I don't like crocheting in the summer, it's too hot lol |
I love that sweater. If someone knitted a sweater like that I would buy it!:) |
Hi.I have knitted the sweater on the front of the first book.I have got 3 books on knitting for dogs but I haven't seen the second book you've got.I have knitted all my life, starting with dolls clothes to hand kniting for the fashion industry.Even had some on TV.Once you have got a basic pattern it is very easy to adapt it to different styles.Good luck with your kniting, will look out for photos.:D |
knitting/crochet book Another great tip...I get most of my patterns online, but if you want to get a book super cheap, order it USED on Amazon.com. They have most titles at a discounted price from another seller. You can get the exact same book for less than half the price and it's in pretty much perfect condition. |
I am just learning to knit and I want to try my hand at one of the sweaters. Good luck. Show us how they come out. |
