Do you think Tucker is a silky? 3 Attachment(s) A few people have asked me if Tucker is a silky terrier and I'm not sure if they just didn't know what they were talking about or if I was misled and he is a silky. What do you think? The first is a pic of him the day he came home at 3 months old. The next is after his first grooming at about 4 months old. The last is at 5 months old on the 4th of July. |
Looks like a Yorkshire Terrier:aimeeyork to me....I have three of them who have looked just the same at that age:D :animal-pa Debra x x x |
Looks like a purebred to me. Is he registered? A little cutie and bet he is a sweetie too. PS Sophie was a purebred, her momma was a show dog and people would still stop to say "what kind of dog is that? A silky". Of course, I was indignant and now realize they didn't know the difference. |
Looks like a yorkie to me too :) Don't worry about what people say.... |
Thanks for putting my mind at ease ladies! It wouldn't have made me love him any less, I just would have felt like I was taken advantage of and made to look like a fool for 3 months while I was telling everyone he was a yorkie! Quote:
And thank you for the compliments! He is just the sweetest little guy! I don't know how I lived without him! :) PS I love Sophie Rose's name! |
Well, when I am feeling a bit sick of questions about bella like .....Is she a rat??? Is she a hamster mix??? I tell them actually she is a Rottweiler/Doberman mix.....and I think she may have a growth issue, dont you?? But thats just me. Im growing increasingly sick of silly, insulting questions about my babies. Not sure if you get asked in a rude way but if you are Id think of a real sarcastic line like I have and shut em up!!! BTW, Tucker is gorgeous! |
He looks all yorkie to me...and a cutie at that! :D |

(Tara is in my avatar pic on the left - she is all of 4lbs !) It also works a treat to tell people they are Rottweilers to stop them annoying the dogs ! My three Yorkies are angels, but it often helps to make annoying people wonder, ha ha ! :animal-pa Debra xxxx:D :aimeeyorkTARA :aimeeyorkCASPER :aimeeyorkTAMMY |
2 Attachment(s) To be honest I think he does look like a silky pup, having said that, as most of you know Silky Terrier is made out of Yorkshire Terrier. So Yorkies can look like Silkys and Silkys can look like Yorkies, depends on what the breeder is doing. A Yorkie can be a purebred but still look very much like Silky, same goes with the Silkly, some Silky breeders breed them to look more like Yorkies and move more like Yorkies. It is expecially difficult to see if they are from puppymills because there people don't breed after the breed standard. Plus, it is often very difficult to see if a puppy is a silky or yorkie, you can see it better when he grows up. Well thatīs my bit. Anyway, he is as just georgeus and he has a very cute name. :D Here are 2 a pics of my friends Silky Pup (to the left) with my Yorkie Mandla. There is only 1 month between them in age and they do look very much alike to most people. |

Someone once asked me if my Scruffles was a daschund. Go figure. |
1 Attachment(s) This is Charlie and he is a United Yorkie Rescue pup that came to live with me in April. He is taller, longer and weighs twice as much as Sophie; she was 4-5 lbs.. Charlie may have a bit of "?" in him, but he looks like a Yorkie, talks like a Yorkie and sleeps like a Yorkie. In the end, we love them no matter. Congratulations on your little guy. Warmly, Deborah |
He looks all Yorkie, to me! :) |
I don't know if Tucker is a silky or a yorkie, but he is awfully adorable! :D |
It's hard to tell from the pictures: Here is a good site that tells you the difference between Silkies and Yorkies http://www.amronsilkyterriers.com/amron-links.html |
