Bark, bark, bark help Honestly folks Penny never stops barking. She barks at everyone in the house, anyone who comes to the house, Piper, and absolutely nothing. How do I turn her barker off? |
I posted my tips on this subject not long ago on this thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ght=adrenaline Hope it helps! |

Take a can put change in it and shake it every time she barks |
The spray bottle did nothing for Buddy except get him wet:D Didn't faze him at all. However, pennies in a can scared the crap out of him and to this day I bring it out of the closet when I leave for work and threaten him with it so he dosen't bark when I leave. Works like a charm. |
The spray bottle has worked wonders for me! Now as soon as I pick it up (after 2 days) they stop barking :) |
The pennies in a can is really working for Molly right now. She's going to have a Diet 7-up complex!! All I have to do is reach for the can and she shuts up. I do have to pay attention to what she is barking at though. The first day I did it she apparently was trying to tell me she needed to go potty... Good luck!! Carla |
We got into the habit of putting them outside the back door saying "no" to them every time they barked. They learned that when mommy said "no" she meant it!!!! They check to see am i watching now if they start to bark!! |
I started using the cue method, and it's actually working. Everytime Penny starts to bark I go don't laugh bababa, and she'll run to me and I give her a treat. hugs, or play with her. |

You mean Penny didn't come with a barker on/off switch???? :p :p :p Sorry, just had to say that.;) lol, You can try a hint I just found on another forum. I have a Maltese that is the "barker b*tch" of the neighborhood. She barks at nothing, something, anything, and everything LOL!!!! They have used this with great success on their Yorkies, a can of air spray that you use for cleaning your electronic items (like computer tower, etc) DO NOT SPRAY IT AT HER!!!! as it emmits a certain freeze that can harm them. Just the sound is suppose to deter them. So spray it in the area, away from your baby. Hope this helps |
I like the pennies in the can, too. At nite, my 2 yorkie sisters, sleep on the bed and bark whenever the cats start playing around. But as soon as I give a shake or two of the can, they stop immediately. :p |
