Oprah's loss
 
I have breifly looked through the forum to see if anyone has posted about Oprah's loss, if so, excuse me for the repeat post.

When I read her article, I just broke down in tears, and thought I should share the story of her loss, its very heartbreaking, and pray that none of us EVER experience this accident with our pets.

How heartbreaking. I feel bad for Oprah and can really relate to what she's going through right now. Rest in peace, Gracie. :tinyheart

I definitely just busted into tears reading that :(. It's just so scary that it could happen to anyone and I feel so badly for Oprah's loss. Rest In Peace Dear Gracie <3

I heard this too today and my heart sank - it is so sad and i am sure she is extremely heart broken as i saw the show with her and her dogs and she loves them so much as they are like her kids.

This made me cry...I didn't even know. Just today I was talking to my fiancee about how beautiful her dogs are. So sorry for her loss.

Her tribute is just phenominal and true. Our babies can teach us soooo much if we just watch and listen. Give more kisses, cuddle on someone you love and just enjoy the closeness. Our prayers are with her.

Thanks for posting that. It was all too sad to think of the loss of a pet. But what a beautiful, touching tribute to her life. To be able to look beyond one's grief and see the positive contribution of the life itself -- that is a gift! I think Gracie's gift to all was twofold -- yes, slow down a little .... but enjoy every moment of the life we are given too. RIP Gracie!

Poor Oprah!! I feel so bad for her. Speaking of "wake up call"....this makes me wonder if I have any toys that could be danergous and cause choking. Perhaps I will start a new thread for YT's to post items that can be dangerous to our furbabies.

Thank you all for responding to my post. I cant imagine what Oprah must be feeling. There is always that..."what if" questions. It was just an accident, thats why its called that...an accident, something we dont foresee happening. Nobody to blame.

I feel so sorry for her staff, to be the ones to announce to her that Gracie was gone. I bet they felt very helpless.

Love your babies everyday, and look out for their safety.

i stay away from greenies, bully sticks, hard plastic toys as they can tear them off. It is tough though to watch everything but i try - i do not leave a lot of toys out when gone only their favoritest which are a latex fish, stuffed soccer ball and frisbee that is soft material
