What to do for possible yorkie constipation? Hallee got antibiotic shot on Tuesday and then we have to give her antibiotic by mouth until it runs out. We had the scare with her on Tuesday that she was choking on something and ended up having inflammed throat. Hallee pee'd and poo'd that night. We have two yorkies. One of them poo'd yesterday one time, Wednesday. One of them poo'd around 4:30am this morning. Nobody has poo'd since. I am afraid that Hallee has not poo'd since Tuesday night. She has been eating. Since Tuesday they have only gotten soft food because of Hallee's throat per recommendation of the vet. Later we will add back the hard food. What are your thoughts? I am just concerned about her. She is eating like normal, but not sure if anything is coming out. |
buy a can of PURE pumpkin, no spices, just pure.. and give her some of that to eat.. maybe 1 tsp, layla woudln't eat it straight up so i mixed it with yogurt :) |
You can also give olive oil or applesauce |
pumpkin really works for us |
The vet told me to give a little of mineral oil, I mixed with her dry food and worked for us:thumbup: |
We have mineral oil. How much should I give her. She is 4.5 lbs. I feel like the Poo Police :D |

The pumpkin didnt work for us when Chewy was on antibiotics. I gave her a little bit of metamucil though a syringe and she pooped within hours. |
Mineral oil is good to use, and you can take a cotton ball and rub it on her little butt which will also help. Canned pure pumpkin is good, and also make sure she drinks alot of water. |
does that help it come out Quote:

Carrots I cut up carrots, as advised by my vet, and give them to the dogs every morning. They seem to love them, too. It keeps them hydrated, regular and helps clean their teeth. |
