Run of the house I was just wondering at what age did you let your yorkie roam the house during the day while you were gone? We just recentley started letting Bentley roam the house while were gone and he is 7 months. He was acting like he was 100% litter trained but just recently he started having accidents again. He was doing really well for about 2 weeks but the other day I was gone for about 7 hrs. and he had 3 accidents and did not go in the box at all. I dont know if its b/c he didnt like being alone and knows noones there to give him treats or b/c he's just to young to roam the house while were gone. |
I think Tino was about 8/9 months when we gave him the whole house when we are gone. If he is having accidents only when you are gone, I would give him a smaller area. |
I'm still afraid to give Fred the whole house to himself while we are gone because he still has his accidents! He's only 6 months so he has a few more months to go! |
Oh I'd say when they are about 110! |

Maggie, who is 4 is left to run the house if I'm only going to be out for an hour or two (flute lesson or band or grocery shopping or something). When I go to work, however, she's crated right next to her sisters Molly and MacKenzie...kind of a puppy condominium unit I have going, actually. It's not even so much about the potty accidents. I'm just worried they could get into something dangerous (such as chewing on cords, etc.) if not containerized. |
We started letting Gucci roam the house when she was 6 months. She was doing great, but started haivng accidents when she got her first heat on May. Is like i have to retrain her. We usually just lwet her be in my room, hallway and bathroom when we are not home. |
Riley was probably 4-6 months when he got the run of the house while we were away. We litter trained him in about 1 month and we got him at 8 weeks. I do not know why your pup is all of a sudden having accidents. Maybe you should start off slow. Let ur Yorkie have the run of 2 rooms in your house while ur away, the one room with his litter box and another room. After awhile of him not having accidents that way, expand it to another room. Hope fully you find some help on this great website! |
