Jake hates clothes so I tried something new
 

When I put clothes on Jake, he just takes them off. So, I don't push him to wear them. He didn't seem to mind PJs last winter though, I think he liked the warmth they provided. Most times, I don't even bother but he has so many cute clothes that I really would like for him to like wearing them. I tried something new today...

I was thinking about his Hide-A-Squirrel toy, how it says on the box to get your scent on the squirrels before you give it to your dog to play with. It recommended putting the squirrels in with laundry that hasn't been done yet. Well, I didn't want to do that....yuck. So, I just handled them alot before I gave them to him. I thought maybe the same would work for clothes.

Last night, I took one of his shirts and put it inside my pillow case before I went to bed. After he ate his breakfast, I let him sniff the shirt. Then, I picked him up and put the shirt on him. He didn't fight, he sat very still. When I got it on him, I told him what a good boy he was and gave him a treat. He wore the shirt ALL day!!!!! I'm going to try it with some of his other clothes and see what happens, just in case it was just a fluke and he decided to cooperate today.:rolleyes:

So, anyone having probs with their babies not liking clothes, give it a try! I'd be really interested to hear what happens!:)

That's an awesome idea. I know I had to share by blanket with Holly so she's like her new bed. LOL. But I had no idea it worked on clothes. It makes sense though. Good thinking.

Thats a good idea! Fortunately I dont have any trouble with mine wearing the clothes....Bella is not crazy about it but she ablishes (sp) ?? me haha.....Louie on the other hand Loves to wear his clothes hahaa....In fact the other day I got them each some really cute tank tops....(pink for Bella with a palm tree on back, and blue for Louie with a surfboard on back) sooooo cute. Well, I had taken them off of them at night to go to bed and had them on the bureau........Louie was sitting on the bed looking at the shirt and whinning because he wanted me to put it on him. I picked it up and he came right over for me to put it on and then was as happy as a clam hahahaha.......
