Loud noises, help! I havent posted in a long time, but now I'm so upset and worried. I need advice. I was walking Olivia and her 6 mo old Chihuahua brother around my neighborhood this evening. We walked past my neighbors house, where one of my friends lived before she got married. Her 20 year old brother (known to be the biggest pain the the you-know-where) was outside and as we passed he got into his truck and blasted his illegal louder-than-an-atomic-bomb horn at us. On purpose, just to scare my dogs, which he thinks are a joke to have. My dogs freaked out, especially Peppy the chihuahua, who is only just getting the hang of his leash. Well this all happened about 2 hours ago, and my ears still hurt from the noise. Now, it's really got me wondering how bad could this have been for my dogs? They seem fine right now, but is there any knowledge and advice anyone could pass on to me? Any signs I should watch out for? My dogs weigh about 4 lbs each and they are seriously my children. I've already made it clear to my friend that I will be holding her brother accountable financially for any veteranary costs if my dogs develop any hearing problems. I also plan to talk to his parents regarding the matter. I have a few neighbors who were witness to the scene. I'm so upset, someone calm me down! haha |
Ugh! What a jerk! I'd be pissed too! I don't know about any problems for the babies though... |
have you called the police to see if there is anything they can do for you, if not for your babies. i would see if i could file a complaint- has to be a law about loud noises or something. |
I have heard dogs ear drum can handle much more volume than a humans can. they have much better hearing and have a totally different hearing system than us. I hope your babies ears are okay and the jerk gets a ticket for excessive noise! |

I don't know the answer to your question, but that was really mean of him. What kind of person would do that to two four pound babies!!!!! |
Talk to his mother, the police and be careful. He sounds like he could either dangerous, retarted or both. I wouldn't walk past his house again. Go in a different direction. I'm sure that kind of noise isn't good for people or doggies ears. |

And as for walking a dif way, I live at the end of a cul-de-sac, so i guess im gonna have to drive my car past his house and then get out and walk my dogs. The nerve of some people:mad: The little ones seem to be doing fine for now...thanks everyone! |
