Car Sick Hi Everyone. I am going to be moving soon. Daisy , my yorkie gets car sick. I asked the vet if she knew what I should give Daisy. She told me to give Daisy childrens benadryl. I was just wondering what do you give your yorkies. |
Lexie has this problem, too, sometimes. I've read on here to give Benadryl. My vet told me not to feed Lexie on the mornings we have to go in the car. I hate the idea of not feeding her, especially if wherever we're going isn't until later. I got Lexie a car seat where she can see out the window and she does much better this way than when I had her in her carrier. I'm hoping she'll grow out of it b/c she doesn't get sick as often now. Good luck with your move :) |
Thanks |
Re: Car sickness My puppy, Boobah, so far gets carsick and vomits on her towel. When Im taking her to the vets or park. The vet told me to give her one dramamine pill 1 hour before she travels with me in the car. |
be careful benidral IT goes by weight. ask your vet how many mg.for YOUR dog. |
Giver her something all natural. Rescue Remedy is just herbs and NOT medication. Give 4 drops 45 minutes before the trip. Also keep the dog elevated so she can see out of the car window. It helps with motion sickness. Don't feed right before a trip either. http://www.bachflower.com/Pets.htm |

How old is Daisy? Almost all my Yorkies got sick in the car before the first year. I would get them use to it by taking very short trips. I would take them around the block and then to the gas station when I needed gas. Do this every day and they get use to it. Now they are almost a year old and can ride in the car booster seat without a towel. |

The B-complex will help prevent nausea. If motion sickness does occur, give some peppermint tea or peppermint capsules to help settle the stomach. |
Oliver, my shih poo, gets car sick after about 30 minutes. He sits in an elevated car seat and tries to get out of it to throw up.(bless his heart) It's happened twice when I tried to take him to work. Both times were right when I pulled in my parking space. He does fine with short trips though. I've never given him meds, I just avoid long trips at all costs. Good luck |
What is B-complex?? Where can I buy it?? |
Really? Newie, my yorkie hasn't gotten sick yet at all and we've been everywhere. Is just sort of hit or miss with car sickness? |
B-Complex It boosts the immune system, and I'd imagine at any natural food/pet store. Quote:
