Yorkie vs. cat....please guide me  Have any of you ever had a yorkie and a cat fighting over dominance? Siris is my 9 year old male neutered cat. He's pretty lazy and easy going. He and Lexie play pretty well most times. Every now and then, though (more and more often lately) Lexie gets a wild hair and decides she's the queen. She ends up barking and growling at him. He 9 times out of 10 hisses and runs to hide on the barstool. He pretty much avoids arguments but Lexie is so incredibly persistent. She has barked and growled at him, like she's calling him out, for up to 30 min. I'm scared they're going to end up in a real fight and somebody is going to get hurt. I need advice from you ladies and gentleman. |
I am haveing the same problem with my two girl yorkies tonite one did get hurt..I hope someone has an answer to this |
Lacy always chases my older cat who will hiss at Lacy and bat at her if cornered. I always tell Lacy no but she doesn't listen. I wish my cat would stand her ground and actually put Lacy in her place so she'd stop. Lacy and my younger cat get along great...they play a lot. Lacy chases her a little too but the younger cat will stand her ground if she isn't in the mood to be chased. She has never hissed at Lacy. |
Thanks for your reply. It's strange b/c they got along great with no problems at all up until a week or so ago. Before, Lexie was alway pretty submissive to Siris and still is to an extent...until she starts feeling froggy then she wants to boss Si around. I feel bad for Siris b/c he's old, tired, and in no mood :p and he's never been a hisser. I'm scared he's going to decide he's had enough and Lexie will end up hurt. Siris is 18lbs and Lexie is 4lbs.... Lexie has really turned into quite the bad a** lately. |
