Moving house Hi all, I'm moving home next week and I'm a little worried about how this will affect my little puppy. Lilly has been with me now for nearly two months. We've been living with my boyfriend but due to personal reasons I have to move into my own home. Our new place has a stunning garden and lots of space and I know Lilly will be happy but I'm just worried... Will a move upset her? Will it stress her to be living in yet another new home? I'll be living there and she'll hardly ever be alone if at all. Any tips? |
I bet she'll do just fine -- she has YOU! Higgins was brought up full-time in an RV (2 different ones) and travelled to different places all the time. Then we move back in to a house this spring. The only thing I ever noticed was when we moved into the house he went RACING around it in absolute joy with all that spaaaaaaaace to play in. BTW, our house is arranged Feng Yorki for him......... We now have a small new motorhome to play in and he couldn't wait to get in it and claim in for himself! We're headed out tomorrow for a few days of "camping." |
She may have a little adjusting to do, but she will adapt really fast. It will surprise you. Don't worry and good luck with your move! |
She Will Probably Be A Little Upset At First - It Takes A Bit Of Time To Settle Into A New Home. You May Find She Will Be A Little Clingy To You At First, But I Am Sure She Will Soon Settle Down. Good Luck With The Move - Very Exciting...... |
I think just as long as you have her usual things, she should be alright. I took Aubrey away with me, for a weekend, when we first got there he just sniffed around then he seemed to be well adjusted to it. Good luck with your move. Lets us know how it went. |
I moved about 2 months ago. Howie had a little bit of trouble with it. He was really into a good routine before we moved and once we got to the new place he was a little bit disoriented. He was alternating between having accidents in the house and holding his potty for hours and hours. In the old place we used strictly puppy pads. After about 2 or 3 weeks here at the new place he was fully trained to go outside (no more pads). That seemed to work a lot better for our new living situation. I'm sure your little one will adjust fine. Just be patient and try to keep things as consistent as possible. Good luck with everything! |
Thanks guys! I'm a bundle of nerves about this move... for so many reasons... I'm just hoping Lilly will be ok. She's been to the new place a few times and did seem to like it so I'm sure it will be just fine. I just don't know how well dogs adjust to moves. I know cats hate it! |
