Anyone know of something I can use.. to make dry food more appetizing? I guess since it's so hot out, my two have no appetite. Other than wet food, is there any type of liquid something I can put on their food. I was thinking if there is something similar to chicken broth.. just something to coat the food. Wonder if I could use chicken broth? |
Sure :D Low Sodium Chicken Broth or Tuna Water |
possible things to add to dry food: canned pumpkin (all three of mine love it, and it helps keep them "regular") plain yogurt chicken baby food (just a little) cooked rice good luck!!! |
Cottage Cheese is good too! |
braunswieger smash up in their food, my dogs love it. |
I just poor a little water on Gracie and Hallee's that way it gets kinda soggy. They love it. |
A friend told me today that she dampens it and sprinkle a little bit of parmasen cheese on top, just a little to taste. |
Oh wow! So many ideas. Thanks guys! Anyone know of any others? |
I would try just a bit of chicken broth.:) |
They make stuff called Vitagravy you can put on their dry food. You could also mix in a little premium canned food such as Merricks. |

Paddington loves the missing link vitamin added to his food. He licks all around the bowl to make sure he gets it all  -O |
YES YES YES!! I KNOW! There are these Fish oil capsules that i put over their dry food and they LOVE IT!!!! London won't eat her food unless it's on it. I just make a little hole in it and squirt half of it on each and it's great for their hair, their hair has gotten so shiny and soft! |

So maybe something like that? How do you know how many MGs to give? |
I have just started adding plain yogurt to my lil one's dinner. She enjoys it :p It's like an extra treat for her. |
I alternate between a little cottage cheese one day, a little plain yogurt another day, and a little tuna oil another day. Gizzy will love something one day and turn his nose up at it the next, so I started switching. About a three day cycle works for us (so far). When the cottage cheese comes around again, he likes it again. |

IAMS makes a gravy in 3 dif flavors. I don't use their food, but Gizmo will eat anything I put it on. |
Fish oil can be bought at the drug stire for less. I just have to laugh at what we all do to get our little ones to eat. |

Sprinkle parmesan (they LOVE it) Spritz of butter spray broth add water |
I add cooked grated chicken, steak or salmon to the kibbles. Small enough so they can't pick it out and leave the kibble. I am learning!!!:D :D |

Is there a certain brand? I'm going over to Whole Foods today and would like to pick some up. Ack - I missed the important posts with the information I just posted asking about...Duh |
I cook a chicken breast and then "reduce" the liquid so that it is concentrated. Then I put the breast and liquid in blender and liquidity it. I freeze the "chicken juice" in ice cube trays and store them in zip lock bags. It only takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute to thaw and my kids go wild! |
I love the Parmesan cheese and butter spray ideas for dinner. Max gets cottage cheese with just a small piece of Boar's Head sliced turkey mixed in. He absolutely will not eat dog food for breakfast. Whatever you do, don't feed him from your plate. I started with drop of whatever I was having in his bowl, just to get him started. Now, I could fill his bowl with filet Mignon. He still won't go over to it until he sees me sit down, take a bite from my plate and then put something from Mommy's plate into his bowl. He comes back for more, but after the second taste, I ignore him. |
