Getting ready to have him neutered But should I....... He's so darn cute - Maybe I should (not sure if this is what it's called) but maybe I should "stud" him out. He's too cute not to, but I have no idea what it all intales - (well maybe a little) - but you know what I mean. Any advice? |
Im in the same boat I am debating as well whether to let my little boy breed or not. It is very tough. The research I have done hardly shows any preferences either way. It might make them healthier say a few sources, it could cause cancer say others- Breeding them may cause them to go rabid and they will hump and mark everything, while others say its fine and will not alter thier personality at all. I am confused just like you. But personally I am leaning toward neutering Berkley~ |
I know that we all love our babies and want the best for them and to see a part of them but unless you are really sure about lines and all that in the dogs being bred I wouldn't do it. I would suggest neutering and letting him be a pet. Once you stud them I have heard (not sure) that the manliness in them kick up a notch. You will find a bit of marking and other unwanted behaviours might surface. I would say chat up some of the breeders on here and find out what would be in store for you if you keep him intact and stud him out. |
I've had the same worries for 3 yrs. now. But, I now have 4 males and just got a little female. I don't want to breed, so I have no other choice. Also, my oldest male, JPop, has become pretty agressive toward 1 of my males. Too much testostrone floating around. Just hope neutering solves, or at least helps this problem. They were scheduled for next week, but I think I'm going to have a conflict at work, so I'll have to reschedule. |
