Using onsies.....??? Do you guys use them on the boys too, or just the girls? My boys are scheduled for next Thurs & Fri and I'm getting nervous. Any advise would be appreciated. |
i only have a girl, but i imagine you could use them on boys too... you are using them to keep them away from their stiches. when i would take Layla out to pee i would unsnap them and fold the back up for her to go.. so i'm sure it would work the same for a boy! hope the neuters go well!! |

And I'm guessing you cut holes for their little nubs? |
When I had Mojo neutered, I got a little preemie onsie and cut a hole out for his tail. I put it on backwords so the snaps were on top (so they wouldn't rub against his belly. He only wore it that one day and night and was fine the next day. He never messed with the area. What size is your little one? If you would like (if I still have it), I can send it to you. |
JPop is about 6 1/2 lbs, I'm guessing the preemie would be too small?? I haven't had a chance to shop yet so I'm not sure what size he'll need. |
why didn't I think of this too?! :( Daisy was spayed a while ago and this would've been a great idea to keep her from licking her ''wound''. |
Do you have a baby consignment/resale store in your area? We bought Mojo's at one, brand new w/ the tags for only 50cents! I looked at Wal-Mart and at the time, they only a packages of three for about $5 or so. I didn't know what size to get Mojo either. He was 5lbs at the time. |

They will all be fine! I am the world's worst about stressing and freaking out. I cancelled numerous appts because I would chicken out. The vet even offered me to stay in the room and watch everything - I didn't because I would have freaked......kind of wish I had done it now. I dropped Mojo off at 9am (held off until the lastest I could) and got him at 1:30pm. The vet knows how anal I am, so she was comfortable with letting him go. But I tell you, when I picked him up only a few hours after his surgery, he was so happy to see me. I was trying to be gentle, but he was wiggling around and giving kisses, etc. He was very groggy and sleepy when we got him and he slept most of the day and night and the next day, he was fine. |
Thanks for the words of encouragement; I'll just be glad when its all over. Then, little Halo just turned 5 mos, so she'll go next month.:( |
Layla is about 5.5 lbs and can wear 0-3 months.. so you might want to go 3-6... it will just be huge around his chest but it's the idea thats important... and better big than too small and tight!! |
The store brand (walmart) 0-3 month onesies fit Emma well, and she's 6 lbs and LONG! The Gerber brand onesies fit smaller, and fit Milli well, who is 4 lbs. Remember to wash and dry them once before using them too! They sometimes shrink quite a bit. All 0-3 onesies say the weight range is about 5-10 lbs-perfect yorkie size! |
I think onesies are a great idea for boys or girls, appears to me it has to be more comfortable than an e-collar. Gerber onesies do run smaller, I purchased Gerber 0-3 mo and a Baby's r Us brand in preemie and the Gerber was much smaller (shorter). I know you are worried because I was going through the same thing last week at this time with Stella's spaying. They are much tougher than we think, she also had 9 teeth out and she's been seeing what kind of mischief is possible for the last few days. My thoughts are with you |
Garage sale find lucked up on the way home yesterday; got 4 onesies for $1.50! Can't beat that with a stick!:D |
