hi Well I had to go with my mom to a dr appt. and I put Cody in the metal big pen. and we got back home he tore his bed up. there was pieces everywhere. so now i got to buy a new bed for him. |
lol... poor Cody.. but it is great to leave him alone... we didn't leave Layla alone for a whole year.. and now it is baby steps to get her used to it!!! he'll get used to it!! how old is he?? Layla got upset when we confined her and left but now she is just in the house with most doors to bedrooms shut.. can you leave him in the house or is he still too young? |
me again :p did you leave him with an interactive toy?? like peanut butter in a kong?? layla is too lazy to work on one of those but a lot of people on here love them to keep their pups occupied when they are gone! |
he is 4 months and teething. he cant be left roaming the apartment alone yet he would destroy it. he had LOTS of toys w/him. his loofah "bobo" dog, his calf hoof chew, and other chew toys. i cant wait for him to get out of this stage! :) |
awww it's a tough stage but it does pass :) sounds like he wanted you to know JUST what he thought about you leave... lol.. it gets better :) |
I left Gizzy for 4 hours this morning (he was still with my husband) and came home to find he had pooped on one of my new purses. I think he was trying to let me know how unhappy he was with me. Poor baby! lol But it also taught me to pick up my stuff! :D |
He's still young & should grow out of it...I used to come home every day to shredded puppy pads. But she doesn't chew on anything now. |
Oh He definitely let me know he didn't like being alone. But i couldn't take him. atleast he didnt pee or poo in his pen this time. he waited til i got home to take him out. last time i had to go to the doctor we came home and there was a mess. so he is definitely getting better. and his hyperness has calmed down too. he has his spurts lol |
In training you just have to always be persistant and consistant. I stress those two things. He will get used to whatever you want from him if you are. Once he's house trained, things get so much easier and the dog gets a lot happier with more freedom. |
I have only left Gizmo once since I got him almost 2 weeks ago. It was for about 3 hours to go shopping at Wal-mart and do a couple of erronds at NO pets places. I hate those. But he did well. He was in his puppy safe area closed off with baby gates. It is about 5x7' so I think I was lucky. Keep working with him and He'll get better. |
yeah hes only been left twice. when i went to places that arent pet friendly. he is doing better i dont think it will be longer before he can have full reign without me having to worry what he is chewing on while im gone lol. as soon as he is out of the chewing and puppy stage then he can get use to being alone without in the pen |
try using a baby playpen, i went out to walmart and picked up one for apollo, it works great, plus its very mobile, and has wheels on it, so i can pull it around the house when needed, also using a kong is a great idea too, i know when i leave apollo he crys, but he loves his KONG |
yes an xpen is a good idea and lots of toys to keep him occupied. |
aww he probably got a little bored. Try leaving some toys to keep him occupied. He'll learn, and the chewing stage will pass. Does he like bully sticks and flossies? Those are always good for chewing and to keep them occupied.:) |
He doesnt have flossies or bully sticks. ill pick some up and try him on it. he had other plenty of chew things. i think he just got really mad about being alone. |
