rabies shots Just taking a quick survey here cuz I've been hearing different things from people I know. How often do you get your babies' rabies shots? every year or 3 years? |
My vet said the very first rabies shot is for one year but after that you can get the three year ones. |
Yes, Felina is right. After the first year, I believe there is both a 3-year and a 1-year option. |

Yep........both of mine get the three year rabies shot now. Also depends on the county you live in. The county I moved from had the three yr., the county my vet operates out of (we are 1/4 mile into the next county) only recognizes the one yr. shot but my county accepts the three year but only for the last two years. So I get their three year rabies shot from a clinic. I think this was a lot more information than you were looking for......but I think whether you get a one yr or three yr depends on your particular county/state laws. |
I think it's every two years in TN. Guess it depends on what state you live in. Here in CA. it's every three years. |
My vet says...(that both 1 yr and 3yr is the same amount of medication. It just depends on if you are on time for the shot, you can have the paper read 3yr. The shot is the same. so they overlap if you get it every year. ) |
