i was reading the threads yesterday about the diff. yorkie coats, and i started to wonder myself, i couldnt find a answer on online, or in my yorkie book, so i decided to start a thread of my own. hoping someone will be able to tell me what coat my yorkie has, thx alot!!

Firstly...ADORABLE!!!!!! Too cute. His coat looks so luxurious and THICK, which I love. I'm not good w/ predicting - but it does look like it'll be thick!

Kinda hard to tell at this point because he's still a puppy with a puppy coat but
I did see a green flash in the eyes in one of the pic which somtimes mean a silky coat.
Also I would shave the ears inside and out to get weight off which will help them to stand upright.

thanks, and hes around 8 or 9 weeks in those photos, he'll be 3 months nxt week!! and i wanna shave his ears but im scared of cutting him, he doesnt stay still at all!!! i have to fight with him for just pictures, lol, im thinking about getting a groomer to shave his ears

His coat looks just like Wobie's did! Wobie's coat hasn't changed much in that time though. He's only 18 weeks now, but the hair on his face thinned out and got more silky.

try taking a picture of him with no flash and see what color his eyes look in the picture... red/orange is cotton coat green is silky

ok ill try that tomorrow since hes napping, but i thought the color of the eyes was with the flash? idk maybe i read wrong :confused:

lol, i know with the flash his eyes turn out blueish green, but i havent tried without the flash, ill definitely try that out tomorrow

i thought that wasnt till a certain age when the green flash meant that

lol i dunno! skoshis was the same way!

He's still very young to be able to determine this...do you know anything about his parents and their coats....that will better help you as to what his could be..but he still definately has a puppy coat....He is adorable :)

thank you, and if i can remmeber correctly his dad has a silky coat, i didnt get to meet his mom unfortunately :( so i dont knwo what kind of coat she has :(

That's me! I am also afraid of cutting his little ears. Gizzy can't go to a groomer for awhile, so I am reading everything I can about shaving the ears. But no, I can't get the courage up! lol So, I understand completely. :)

apollo goes to the vet tuesday, and if i understand right he'll be able to go to the groomers after tuesday, so im hoping to get him a appointment on saturday to get his ears shaved, i just cant do it myself, hes a wiggle worm!!
