top knot How do I do a top knot. Deiter's hair is so thin and it hangs in his eyes. I am always pulling back over the top of his head. I laugh because he looks so funny with me do that. I have tried and tried and can't do a top knot. Please help me. |
I don't know about a show topknot but this is how I do lacy's hair. I sit down and lay her down in my lap. She faces lengthwise laying kindof in the middle of my legs facing away from me. I then take her stainless steel comb and comb the hair on her head between her ears back so that none is hanging in her face. Then I use the comb to part from the corner of her left eye to the center of the top of her head and then do the same to the other side...holding the hair with my fingers as I brush it back. I then comb the hair to smooth it and fasten it with a small ponytail holder (I use the tiny orthadontist ones). I make sure it's not too tight that her eyelids are pulled up but tight enough to stay. Then I put a bow in. |
top knot Thanks I will try it. I fill I am hurting Deiter when I am trying to wrap the band around to get it tight enough to stay in. But I am going to try your way tomorrow. Thanks |
just for practice, so it doesn't feel like it is hurting him, you can go to a dollar store or general dollar...or whatever you have in your town...and get some of those cloth pony tail holders for kids. I use those on maggie a lot. they dont' stay in very well, but it is good for practicing so that he can get used to it too. then, once he seems comfy with those, move to the other bands. just an idea..let us know how it goes. have any pictures??? |

Good luck, and just make sure you don't leave it in too long. |

There is a great web site that shows step-by-step instructions on how to do a topknot: http://formosayorkies.batcave.net/new_page_3.htm |
