Has Anyone Heard of This Situation ? Hi All I need some help here if anyone knows anything about this. I have a 1 yr old little Yorkie girl. She was the runt of the litter and I know her since birth but I got her only this February because her fontanel had not closed earlier. She seems to have some neurological problems... She cannot or does not bark at all, she does not sniff at food and will not eat anything or check out people food or treats. She will eat ground chicken from a dish and some kibble. She seems to kind of wobble when she walks and is unsteady on her little feet. She only weighs 3 1/2 pounds. I had her spayed a few months ago and although I was terrified everything went perfectly well with that and she came right home the same day. Anyone have any insight ? Thanks |
Bless her heart. I can't help you because I have never experenced anything like that. What does your vet say? |
So sorry about your baby, but:idontknow I think I have read here about that maybe someone will help you more, what is your vet input on this? |
problems Not acting like a typical Yorkie would not worry me, but her unsteady gait would very much concern me. My Kate does not bark..she is not one to pester you for food, she simply waits patiently, not unusual for some. |
How was her blood work before her spay? Did you have her checked for liver shunt? She sounds precious. |
Have you had her checked for liver shunt? Also, since you mentioned her fontanel not closing, does she have any kind of symptoms of Hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain)? Is her head a little bigger than other puppies? Does she have any kind of eye problems? I'm asking because I have a baby with Hydro, and she wobbles a bit when she walks and sometimes falls over. |
