What to do??? Ok my yorkie is 1 1/2 years old and adorable. She is doing better with the getting up in the middle of the night. I try to feed her early in the day and it seems to be working out better. She has always done pretty good with going out to the yard to potty but awhile back we had some trees cut down and they were laying in our yard next to not in her area where she pottys. Since then the trees have been hauled away and everything is nice and clean again but she refuses to go potty there anymore I don't know why but she does not want anything to do with grass now I take her out and she just stands there I usually tie her up but she just stands and shakes and won't go then she comes inside and has accidents and goes to hide because she knows what she is doing is wrong. I don't know why all of a sudden she is doing this. I tried to move her chain to another part of the yard but not much has changes???? Help |

What about just taking her out every few hours and walking around with her on a harness and leash - or letting her play - do you not have a fenced in yard ?? I don't want to sound mean but I can't see any yorkie doing well chained - They're really not outside dogs...and unless it's to play or go to the bathroom they really shouldn't be chained ... What about Pee Pads in the house - have you tried those ?? My girls are trained on both and while I have a sneaky one - my oldest Chanel never has accidents |
It's not good to chain her in the yard. If your yard isn't fenced in, I would take her out on a leash with a harness. She is probably scared from being chained. Yorkies are not the kind of dog that you can keep outside. I take my Jake out to play, but I have never chained him up. He has been trained to pee pads, but he will go outside too. Please don't chain her, she could hurt herself with the chain. |
Me again - what about trying a cloth or leather leash for her ? the sound of the chain rattling may be why she's shaking...I don't know how big your yorkie is but a chain would be too heavy for most sizes - even a small one....I'd try something else and try walking in circles with her and make it fun if you can - while you try to coax her to 'go' - then gradually (maybe) she won't be scared outside |
is there 2 threads ?? I swear I just saw another one - sorry - I saw your answers on the other one - |

No it is not a metal chain. I don't chain her and leave her outside alone. I just put a harness on and have a cloth leash that she goes outside on but she just doesn't like to be in the grass. Again it is not a metal heavy chain. I know and understand that my dog is only 5 pounds. She is sooooooo well taken care of just like a baby. It is just frusterating that she wont go in the grass. I have tried potty pads but they don't seem to work then she thinks its ok to pee on whatever and I don't like having pee pads in the house. |
