When old enough? At what age is a yorkie ready to breed? My Binky is currently 6 months old. I am planning to fix him but my friend's yorkie is in heat. I would love to have a pup for my sister who tries to steal Binky every chance she gets. |
6 months is very young to breed..I would wait until hes at least a year old  |
For females, it's preferrable to wait until the third heat (around 1 year and a half), for males, i guess at least 1 year old to... |
Hi...I think with AKC males can breed and their off-spring can be registered after they are 8 months. jeanne |
You might want to read up about breeding because I have heard it can really be difficult to have a breeding male, especially if he is just your pet. If you wait to get him neutered he will for sure become a marker, and if he breeds he will definitely mark. I don't know if this would be a problem or not for you. |
