I moved my baby! I feel like the worst mommy ever! I got my Bella for a college graduation present when I was living at home with my parents. I have had her for a little over 2 months and she is 18 weeks old. I moved into an apartment on my own over the weekend and I brought Bella and all her things over yesterday morning! At my parents house they have 2 other dogs that she played with all the time and now she is all alone! I went to the store last night and when I returned I could hear her crying before I even reached the door. I am at work now and can not stop thinking about how sad and lonely my baby must be. I feel like the worst mommy ever. She just looks so sad, keeps walking around wineing :( Has anyone else ever had to deal with moving their yorkie?? Please reassure me that she is going to be okay! |
ohhh, I understand your concern. Well, Bella it's going to have to adjust, and it's going to take some time... but she's your baby and you want to have her with you, and that's ok. Try to spends all the time you can with her, especially during the first weeks. Can you get her a sister or brother? I know that might to be possible right know, but that will really solve your problem right away... |
I wish I could get her a sister or a brother but that just isn't possible right now. My roommate has a cat, although all Bella wants to do is chase him back into his hideing place. |
it will get better in time as she adjust to her new home just lots of love and attention as you can give |
It does get better, she will adjust , don't give up hope. |
Try leaving the tv on, maybe on Animal Planet, or PBS. Just the noise alone might help. I know my dogs actually watch tv, which is a real hoot. I can't imagine having only one, but lots of people do and they turn out just fine. Remember, guilt trips and pity parties are a waste of time. You're doing the best you can; no-one expects any more of you. |
Are you close enough that he might could go to your parents for daycare during the week?:) |
Vinnie is 8 months and we just moved him 2 weeks ago into a house. He has had no problems in the house, not even with those pesky stairs, but that was the problem we had when we first got him, he would be completely alone during the day and it was the most pathetic little cry. It hurts you more than it hurts your baby, trust me! It will take a period of adjustment and then she'll know your schedule and the next thing you know she'll still be barking and crying before you get to the door but it will be from excitement because she'll know you will be home any second! |
When my mom passed away I moved to a condo with the Yorkie I had back then. It was very hard on her. Not only was mom gone but we left my uncle and his dog too. It took a good month I would say but she did adjust. I'm sure Bella will too. Try to keep a radio or the TV on for her. I left the radio on and still do for the my current baby. |
