It could happen to you! (really, it COULD) It got quiet in my house. Too quiet. When it gets quiet in my house it usually means A) doggies are into something they aren't supposed to be into and don't want to get caught or B) doggies are sleeping. Usually it's A. I looked over and saw Josephine sleeping in her little bed. I did not see Susanah. I called her. I did not see Susanah. I checked the kitchen, bathroom, daughter's bedroom, all the places she is not supposed to be or could get in the most trouble in. I did not see Susanah. I started to panic. My son took the garbage out earlier and what if Susanah ran out the door and no one noticed? I began to have trouble breathing and was starting to shake. My daughter looked at me and said, "Mom, Susanah is right there!" Want to know where Susanah was? Do you? Huh? Really? IN MY ARMS! What's worse is the whole time I was frantically searching for her, I was holding her and petting her! I was even kissing her! I have no excuse or explanation other than a lot of yorkies have gone missing lately and I am paranoid. |
That is too funny!! I have done the same thing with them sitting beside me. |
LOL. . . Seriously I think that happens to everyone... yes paranoid it's so sad about all these t hingz happenin to the poor lil yorkies |
Knowing me I was probably talking to her the whole time too. "Where are you sweet girl? Mommy can't find you. Where's my little poopanut?" |
not alone Gray, I totally feel for you and your not alone...with all the Yorkies being M.I.A. I understand why you got panic stricken....I would to! When I sleep I wake up at least 3 times a night in that panic wake up mode and have to physically touch my babies...I did the same when my kids were younger that knee knockin, stomach in your throat, cannot breath, and your whole body feels like its wobbling and you can feel your face turn white! Yep your not alone! Glad she was okay! |

Okay you got an audible laugh on the poopanut....How funny!!! |
LOL I've called her my little poopanut since I first laid eyes on her! I have no idea why or where it came from, but it just stuck. When I call her its usually, "Susanah banana! Come here, Poopanut!" lol |
Oh how funny -- and you are right -- it can happen to any of us.... |
wow that's really something... I hasn't happened to me yet, but it could. I wonder what Susanah was thinking while you were calling her name... Mom! don't you see that I'm right here, what's wrong with you!!!!! :D |
OOHH, my goodness. Max did this to me one day. He was laying on the couch next to me and he was kindof hiding under his little stuffed dog that is about the same color of his head. I went to the bathroom and came back and really didnt see him. Boy Hoody I was in a panic Outside, inside, all around the house and yard. My hubby said" What is wrong?" I said "I cant find Max!!" He looked where he always sleeps and there he was WATCHING me look for him and didnt make a peep, even when I calld him "Mamas Bad Mammal Jammal" (Hubby got that off of Ice Age.) which makes him get all excited. They can get you sometimes these little balls of fur and mischief. Whats funny is what was your baby thnking while you are running around looking and she is in your arms." Im Right Here Mom!!!" |
Oh dear, how scary but funny:) I can imagine doing that one of these days. The other day I was putting new harnesses on the babies and I had Hoku's in my hand but I was putting it on Kalani and couldn't figure out why I kept having to adjust it so much. The whole time Hoku is pacing the floor in front of me waiting for her turn and I'm asking her (actually Kalani) how come she's lost so much weight. I finally go to give her a kiss when I'm done and look into Kalani's face instead. All I could do was crack up - I think they both thought their momma had finally lost it:) |
You are not alone. I have done the same thing. It's only embarassing when I do something like that in front of my hubby since he won't let me forget it. lol |
Wow...that's funny! I've lost the truck in a parking lot (often) and have to hit the "panic" button to find it.....I lose my sunglasses and they're on top of my head.....I've lost dish rags and sponges because I inadvertently put them in the fridge or dishwasher....BUT I haven't lost a dog yet! :D |

I know it's off track, but I'm relieved that other people have "interesting" nicknames for their yorkies. My husband thinks I'm a little off because when I am looking for Gizmo I call, "Gizzy, Gizzy Gumdrops!" And I have no idea where that came from either. :) |
well now i don't feel so bad!!! :D i do the same thing !! If i have his collar on just for the bells and being able to hear him while he is not crated we are okay but a lot of times i don't have it on and if i don't see him right away i will start calling him and he doesn't come//...why?? because he is right under my feet looking at me as if to say WHAT ARE YOU YELLING ABOUT I AM RIGHT HERE IN FRONT OF YOU!!!!!!! :yelrotflm |

it has happened to me while Freeway was in my bed and I went searching .... Muffy (the shihtzu) gave me a strange look... we sure are a worrisomoe group. |
My hubby said that is something I would do. I had to share this with him...giggle, giggle:D . Since I have been reading all the posts about freak accidents or doggie theft, I have been having terrible dreams about something happening to my Hallee and Gracie. |
I pleaded Temporary Insanity Boy oh boy can I ever relate to that, except I did that once when my daughter was a baby and her brother was two. Was chasing my two year old around and then couldn't find his sister......I was holding her the whole time.... so yes, it can happen to anyone....:p |
I've done that with my glasses but not my babies yet, but you never know, it is a good thing to worry about your yorkies in this crazy world, you can not be too careful!!!!!! I call my sweet little Angel, PookyPot, I don't know where it came from, I just started calling her that and it also stuck, and I am always saying where's my little PookyPot, or come on Pooky, my husband even calls her PookyPot, it's funny where our nick names come from!!!!! |
LMAO!!!! I did this earlier today. I got up to do laundry and morgan followed me in the room. When i finished i turned to walk out and called her to follow. She wasn't there. so i called again expecting her to come running from around the corner or come running down the stairs. Nope. so here i am yelling "Morgan?????" "MOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRGAN!!!!!!" "POOOOOOOOOOPERS??????" No response from her. you know where she was? two feet away from me in her bed  looking at me like 'why the hell are you screaming my name, i'm right here' |
This whole thread is so funny....glad I'm not the only scatter brain lol |
This thread is tooooo funny! Are any of us old enough to blame these lapses on a "senior moment"? I am also freaking out the past few weeks if I cannot see my babies, what with all the Yorkies MIA. Scares me to death. Much to friends' disgust, I refused to leave them on July 4th, but was pleased to see many Yt's here felt the same way. |
At what age can you blame it on a senior moment? Yep...been there, done that!!! Didn't notice I was holding him, til he went "ERF"... |
HAHAHAHAHA... bless your heart. that really did make me laugh very hard but...i'm sorry you had to panic like that. i bet you were a wreck. i do that with my car keys...but never my kids :) |
My husband went through shear panic a few weeks ago when he couldn't find Adie. He works out in the garage all day but (because he has a really bad back) he comes in every hour or so to sit down for a few minutes. Adie is always at the back door to greet him but she wasn't that day. He looked all over for her going from a walk to a run. He even ran all over outside too thinking he might have let her slip out. (The yard is enclosed - but you never know.) He was opening doors and crawling under furniture yelling for her the whole time. The longer he looked the more panic stricken he got. He knew that I would divorce him if he lost my dog. Besides his own grief he didn't want me to go through such sadness either. Finally he looked in her crate and there she was sound asleep. Of course he thought she was dead (who wouldn't since he had been yelling her name so loud!) He picked her up and she opened one sleepy little eye then liked his nose. She stirred a little then came to life. Believe me when I say my dog sleeps soundly! |
