You know you love your yorkie when... you get up at 3AM and wrestle your yorkie into a onesie! I got the idea for this thread the other night when I was taking care of Milli, (she accidentally peed on her onesie, after her spay) cleaning her up and trying to get her back into a onesie so she wouldn't lick her incision. I just started cracking up laughing when I realized what I was doing-to the normal person I look like I'd lost it! But, I knew you all would understand since you're all as crazy about your yorkies as I am about mine! So, let's hear them-you know you love your yorkie when... |
you love your yorkie when when your rocking them to sleep ! |
You love your yorkie when you wrap them in a towel after a bath and then just hold them for a while. |
i gotta copy browniesmom.... rock her to sleep.... also you know you love your yorkie when you coax her awake in her crate. each morning Layla gets a lengthy belly rub to gently wake her up.. she isn't a morning girl :) |
You know you love your Yorkie when you don't trust your own grown kids to babysit them. Afraid they won't hold and cuddle them enough;) When your making a 12:00 midnight trip to Wal-mart for the one favorite treat they love after they were neutered and they don't feel good. My favorite...asking hubby to scoot over a little more to give little furball more room in the bed:D |
wow i am reading these and can say i've done them all. After Layla was spayed i set the alarm for every hour to make sure she was ok and hadn't peed on herself.. i'm not sure people do that for their kids :p |
Come home at lunch just to make sure your yorkie has poo'd. Hallee did not go this moring and she is crated while at work so knew she would not go in her cage even if she had too. I missed Chinese with the girls to come home and make sure she poo'd. After she did, I went back to work. |

When -- after coming home from the hospital -- you let him lay on you ALL NIGHT on the sofa and YOU don't move. (That one almost killed me.:) ) |
You know u love ur yorkie when... you have a single mattress on your living room floor so you can sleep with him until he grows up enough to trust him to get up and down from your bed with out falling. Yes, I have not slept in my bed for 2 months.... |
You know you love your yorkie when you are afraid to move when they are napping because they just look so darn comfy where they are! (even if your leg is starting to cramp! ) |
You know you love your yorkie when he falls asleep in your arms, and rather than put him down, you sit and rock him and talk to him and kiss him.:) |

This is us--when we first got Emmy, she would not sleep in the crate or by herself and my hubby brought a fouton mattress in the bedroom. He slept on the floor with her for weeks! Once we bought the new steps and were not worried about her falling off the bed, then him and her moved to the bed! I was loving it though! I had LOTS of room!!!!!!! |
I have to agree with most of these for sure...we have rocked, given belly rubs (usually to fall asleep), moved over to accommodate baby in bed, checked for poop, discussed the consistency of poop, and so on... |
You really love your yorkie when you sleep on the hard floor next to her with your hand on her belly while waiting for her to go into labor. Luckily, I chose the perfect night as, at 5:00 the next morning, I felt the contractions start. We had a beautiful delivery almost one year ago and all five pups are busy being spoiled rotten. On another note, you know you love your yorkie when you come home at lunch to bathe and medicate the little rescue you found wandering the streets (my very first yorkie - my sweet Chester). I could go on and on. My son always tells me I love my dogs more than I do him. Could he be right? They certainly don't talk back - my favorite part! |
