......lied to someone about where you got your yorkie or told someone something bad about yorkies because you don't want them to get one??? I am SO GUILTY of this! People are all the time coming up to me asking me where I got Hootie & Hobbs, how much they cost, and other questions about general yorkie care. I always find myself lying to them or stretching the truth about one thing or another when I feel like they won't be good yorkie owners. Is this bad??? :confused: :rolleyes: :D

I'd say that it would depend on what it is about them that makes them potentially bad owners. Can you expound on that?

yes i do the same all the time !! !!!!
im like yorkies are barkers terrible to potty train and you cant find one under $2000 if you do there over 20 pounds LOL
hey i think we save alot of yorkies lives by lying !!

They are gone all the time, don't come home until all hours of the night, etc.

People like that shouldn't own any pets I'd say. Not just Yorkies. I'd try to dissuade them from animals in general.

Actually - you probably aren't actually lying - you're just giving worst case scenarios and I would too if I thought someone would be a bad candidate for a small breed dog especially a yorkie cause they can be VERY needy.....but I think it's pretty funny you admit it !! :) :) Cute post Rebecca

Quilty! ....When I felt they wouldn't take the time to groom them or feed them properly or they where the type who just wants a dog but the dog is just there........I would say."Oh, there very high maintenance.".... " You'll be lucky if you ever get them housebroken." or " There prone to having a lot of medical problems" ( he he he) I know ...bad, bad , bad....what are yo gonna do...:rolleyes:

This is too funny!! I once lied to a woman that wanted to buy one of my babies and told her that they all had sold that morning. She came to look and had a baby in a car seat, one about 3 and one about 5.....all she needed was a baby yorkie!! You should have see hubby's eyes, but he did go along with me!!

YUP I have! :p I will only do it if I really feel that they won't be good dog owners(or yorkie owners).

Okay I do it with Yorkies and all the pets in Pet supplies Plus. Especially the ferrets EVERYONE wanted a ferret and i dissuaded SOOOOOOOO many people. My take was the vet bills....noone knows what a ferret vet bill costs lol

I would say ohhh great pets TONS of work, and thier food is expensive and the vet bills WHOA and they HAVE to go or they die easily. Answer was always....wow.....doesnt sound like something i want...Im like ya.....they are VERY costly. HA I am a BIG FAT LIAR

I will say this. If nothing else, Yorkies aren't that expensive to have because it takes them forever to finish a bag of food and their toys are always cheaper b/c of their small size. So that's one awesome thing. :)

When peoples come to see the puppies , if I am not comfortable with them , I simply tell them to buy a stuff animal . This way the little one will not have to wait for them to come back home for food , walks , grooming etc , etc.

My breeder screens all potential buyers and if she doesn't think they will take care of her babies..she won't sell one to them..so i have no problem telling them the name and number of my breeder and let her handle them!! :) I do let them know what her minimum fee is and a lot of times that will nip it in the bud right there!!!!:D

I lie, too. :D ;) Especially when I'm walking Vickie and someone has like a million questions. I'll just lie and say she was 3,000 and people walk off.
