yorkie hair Hi, If you give your little one a haircut, (puppycut) how long does it take for their hair to grow out again??? Just wondering. |
I was wondering the same thing. About a month ago, the vet shaved the hair on Sophie's ears when he taped them up, and it is still very short. She is getting pretty shaggy! ha Time for a trim...I think. :animal-sm |

Well, they say Yorkie hair is much like human hair, and that is the average rate of growth for human hair, too. Hmmmm....interesting. |

I noticed you are in Missouri. I have family that live in Elvins, Flat River, and Rollie. When I was a little girl, we lived in St. Louis. |
brownies hair grows very slow i cut it a month ago and it looks the same ?? |
After my girls BOTH had a bad groom job last year it took about 2-1/2 months for it to grow out |
So, in the theories of human hair growth...does a trim make it grow faster (*haha?) |
I've wondered that myself - a trim doesn't work at all for me ...but it's a good question. I think the length of our hair is pre-determined... but I've heard stories about cutting on full moons etc will make hair grow faster...never tried it though |
Yorkie cut I'm letting my two's hair grow but am wondering about the little bangs they have when they are puppies. It is so cute, my hubby insisted they get their bangs cut every month but now I want them to look like grown up yorkies, so in the interim how do I keep their hair from getting in their eyes and obstructing their vision. So far, my silky little one can barely keep a bow in for two seconds. I understand the comments about groomers, it was hard to find one that knew how to groom a yorkie, period. I went through 4 before I was happy. The first one totally shaved Chloe, I was furious! |

On the Hair Visor look - try Vasaline to train it till it gets a little longer then you can bow it up I use the Pet Edge bows on Cheri - she has REALLY silky hair and they stay great |
hmmm..........I asked because I cut the paw hair on NIkki and it looks bad. I thought I was trimming it up so it would be neat and trim around her toes....guess I wasn't thinking, I went too far up the leg!!!! Accidentally of course!!! I gave her a little trim as well all over. Her hair is long, but looks so scraggly right after I brush her. The trimming helped as it does for human hair. You know, blunt ends look chunkier. She needs more really. I don't want to go to a groomer because #1- there is NO WAY I will leave her and #2 I don't want to hate the cut. |
yorkie hair Vaseline, what a great idea, thanks so much. I have a friend who has a groomer come to her house because she was too afraid to let hers go to a shop, you might see if you can get the same in your area. However, I found a groomer that dedicated the same ladies to do my girls and they just love them and I love that they do. They also call me promptly when the girls are done so they do not stay in a cage for long. I tip them very well so it has worked out well for me. Maybe if I get braver I'll do my own...... |
Their feet are sooooo hairy. I trimmed Lady's feet like a poodles and left the hair above to hang over. It grew back really fast. The next time I asked the groomer to do her feet like a Poodles and she cut the overhanging hair. I was mad, but it wasn't her fault. That is how you do a Poodle. I just didn't think to tell her not to cut the overhanging hair. Next time I will. They have such cute little feet under all that hair. Sylvia |
