Decided not to get a second yorkie For the last few months I've been planning on getting a little girl. I called my dog's breeder & was waiting on her to have more pups. Her dog had pups 2 weeks ago. I was going to get a little girl a full sister to my dog. However, after much thought my husband & i have decided that we're afraid it will inhibit when we can take our current with us places. He's a bigger yorkie & we are just afraid 2 would be too much hassle. We would hate to leave them home & takin just one isn't fair. So we've decided it's for the best to just stick with one, but it's still making me a little sad. |
I really hear what you are saying. I see so many people with two or more Yorkies, and it all looks like so much fun. I want the same. However, we take our little girl with us nearly everywhere. She is seven pounds or a little over. She does not fit in a purse, and she will not go into a purse. She is very active and likes to run. She has even gotten away from us on two occasions!! I don't know if I could handle two with the same will to run! When I think about leaving her and another one home alone, I would feel guilty since she loves to go. Also, when I saw the bill from the groomer last week, I also thought again about the second dog, but it is always in the back of my mind.:) |
Roger, that! I tip my hat to the folks who have more than one. A lone Yorkie and a pair of cats (both strays literally landing on my property) is almost more than I can handle sometimes!:) |

And at least I'm not the only one that struggles with this. We also have a cat & someday I might wanna have a baby. So this probably is the right decision. |

our family has just made th same decision. We were hoping to get layla a sister next summer but have now decided one is just perfect for our family. We do a lot of travelling and Layla has adapted so well, we worry the next one might not. Also my parents own their own business and layla spends the days there and it took us a while to get her to the point where we know exactly how she will behave with customers and we worry the next one might not be the same. While at some point in our life another yorkie might be in our cards, for the next few years it isn't, and like you, i feel sad with the decision, but we know it is what is best for our family. it sounds like our families are a lot a like! |
