What to do on their birthday? :) My Munchkin is turning 1 this July, I'm wondering what to do for her on her birthday. I'm from the Philippines, so we don't really have pet spas or pet parks. :( What did you guys do for your dogs on their birthday? :) |
I took Gracie over to my friend's house for a barbecue. Then we just did things together the rest of the day. We went for a walk, went shopping, pretty much went wherever she was allowed to go. I gave her a special treat for dinner (people chicken and ice cream) and then we played and snuggled. We just enjoyed each other immensely! |
4 Attachment(s) Happy Birthday Munchkin! Have a party like you would your child. In a park, at your home, etc. Some of the dog stores will do a party for you...especially the speciality ones. Last year we had a party at my house- I made a people chocolate cake that we could eat, surrounded by doggy cookies. Everyone brought presents and my other dog came. This year, she will have more doggy friends! Here's a few photos. |

1 Attachment(s) Hi! I'm from the Philippines too, but I moved here to southern California when I was 3. I miss home and want to go back and visit so bad. Where abouts are you from? (i'm from Tacloban city, Leyte) :) .....sorry, had to ask ;) ANYWAY...I have yet to celebrate a birthday with Luigi, since he's still only 3 months. But I have another dog at my parents house named Bella (a jack russell terrier), and for her 4th bday this year I bought her a bday cake (from a doggy store, so it's specially made for dogs), and made a homemade party hat for her. Then my family and I gathered around and we sang "Happy Bday" to her and she ate her cake. Haha. Such dog lovers, but she loved it! You can also buy your puppy some new toys or some special treats and lots of playtime. Here's a picture of Bella on her bday..I just had to show it, cause look how happy she looks! :D : |
We always have cookout and party here at our house. We do cake and ice cream for everyone....and the dogs will have their own too. We do gifts and pictures and there are goodie bags for the kids and other dogs. Sometimes, we will do games or something, but mostly we just all socialize and eat and have a good time. I always decorate and wrap gifts, etc....it is just like a child's birthday! |
We had an actual BDay party for Gracie. We had a human cake made with Happy Birthday Gracie and dog bone on it with ribbons. We sang Happy Birthday and of course my family brought doggy gifts. Gracie did not get cake, but she got dog treats. It was great. This year I am thinking of making her a doggy cake that she can eat. Heather |
Hmm, is it a good idea to feed them human food (bday cake)? I don't normally feed Chloe any human food. Where can you get Dog birthday cake?? They are so small, how much can they eat though? I don't want to feed her too much and later she has a stomachache!! hehe... |
Britains bday is going to be in september. A really good friend of mine is making doggy cupcakes and icing the UK flag on them because of her name. I will decorate the house and have a nice lunch for the human party goers as well as her furry friends...goody bags and toys a plenty. I cant wait. |

I was going to get a doggy birthday cake, but when I went to the doggy bakery and saw how big they were, I thought that it was just way to big, so I just bought the cute pink doggy cookies and just baked a "people cake" to match the cookies and surrounded the cake with the doggy cookies...you can see the close up photo above. We all ate the chocolate cake and the dogs ate the doggy cookies. |
hehe, i can't wait till Sept to come then!! Chloe's birthday is in Sept!! I am sure she can't wait to have her 1st year old with us and a yummy birthday cake!! |
Thank you for all of your suggestions! :) I can't wait to celebrate Munchkin's birthday. :) Pamelakay: I'm from Manila. :) |
