are bully sticks safe? I just bought Gizzie a Bully stick from the pet store. I used to give her little rawhide bones until I learned they can be deadly. Thanks YT. Are bully sticks safer? |
bully sticks are much safer then rawhide. Our pups are less likely to bite off pieces of the bully stick and swallow them like the rawhide. Plus i believe they are less fattening. morgan loves Pixie Stix from www.beyondspoiled.com :) |
You need to talk to the bully stick expert on YT Chattiesmom....:) |
Any chewy needs to be given when they are supervised. Bully sticks are better than rawhide because they are digestable |

ooo really???? they aren't stinky like ones at the pet store? i've heard Cindy talk about her ebay guy before. i've checked it out but never purchased because morgan is a slow chewer and it would take forever to go thru a bulk supply. they sound perfect tho for a good chewer especially if they don't stink |
yeah they don't stink...here is a link from a older thread...and this guy ships fast...:) http://cgi.ebay.com/BULLY-BULL-STICK...QQcmdZViewItem |
I just went on and bought some I got the 2 inch to 7 inch assorted for 18.97 2 pound...just go to his store from that link and you will see it...:) |
Lacy loves bully stix. I like to give her the Merrick Flossies. I think bully stix are much safer than rawhides but I still like to supervise her. |
Some dogs will get diarrhea from those things and I'm not sure if they are as safe and they should be since they are "real" skin and I don't know what type of perservatives are on them. I do know there was a recall on them awhile back. |
One reason I like Merrick's bully stix (and all of their products) is that they are a small individually owned company that makes high quality products. They have very high standards. They have never had any recalls on any of their products. If there was a recall on any bully stix I know they weren't Merrick's. Bully Stix are 100% beef and digestible unlike rawhides, greenies, and other things so they are much safer and better for your dog. But like I said before, I would supervise your dog chewing on anything. |
The recall was for a certain brand of Bully Sticks - there was a link somewhere along the way. The guy from Ebay that Cindy gets from -- his were no where near part of the recall nor were the Pixies sticks from kathryn. the Red barn sticks from Petsmart were not part of it either. Sam loves Bully Sticks -- thats his car ride treat. |
