Does every one else get asked to breed there yorkie? Every one always bugs me to breed Meeka and I am tired of it! They are driving me nuts. I try to tell them that I am not breeder and would not feel comforable breeding my baby. Also my meeka is only 2 pounds! So she is way to little to breed any ways. I am getting her fixed at the end of July so that will be an easy answer when they ask me to breed her. Every one at my work wants one of her pups. What do you guys say? |

They can do the research and pay a breeder to get themselves a pet just as you did to get your pet. |
I have two males, one is fixed & the other is not ...yet...I plan on getting a female maybe in the spring... I've been asked this several times by relatives if I will breed them...it's not in an inquiring way, it's in a eager way, as if they could have one of the pups....I always burst their bubble & just say I have no intention of breeding & besides if I did I would keep them all...the subject is dropped after that...I wouldn't even give or sell to anyone I know, I don't feel most off them would be responsible enough to have a pet... |
I've been asked several times if I would allow my boyz to be used for stud...from people I don't even know and who have no idea of their history, temperment, health, pedigree etc... they're just looking for a dog to breed theirs to. They're always upset to find out that both of my boyz are neutered but they don't seem to care whether or not they fit the standard or if they're healthy...they just see that they're pretty and they're small and that's all that seems to matter...well, that and the idea that they might make a few bucks! |
Yeah! I get that too.. but I just say "no, princess doesn't want a bf :p " and leave :D |
I've had people at daycare (other customers) ask if I plan to breed Simon and Hallie and if they can have one of the puppies! I politely tell them that I am an advocate of rescuing and spaying/neutering so no, I will not be breeding them. But I do agree that they would have cute puppies ;) |
OMG i totally know people ask me all the time about Gizzie, total strangers. my baby is not a factory. I'm not going to put her through that for money. I understand if you are informed and knowledgeable about breeding these babies that's one thing but people who just want her to have pups so they can make a little money off her aarrgggh:mad: She is spayed anyway so my little girl is gonna be a virgin forever:D :cheer: |
I tell people that Conner is one of a kind and I want to keep it that way!! Of course, he is neutered so all the girls will be safe with him. |
Family members are the worse, now that i have molly ( 14 wks) they already asked if i would breed her, knowing karleigh is spayed, and my boys are not, they called me stupid when i spayed karleigh:( well guess i will get called that again , molly will also be spayed, i love my babys and im not a breeder, nor do i want to be:) |
When I first got Autumn instead of people asking me if I was going to breed, they kept asking to buy HER!!! Even the breeder I got her from has asked to buy her back...I said NO uh uh!! He bought both sisters back and they are now kept in INDOOR crates OUTSIDE having a litter EVERY heat...so glad I kept Autumn from THAT!! |
I had someone ask me in Petsmart a couple weeks ago if I was interested in breeding Lacy. I told her no and that Lacy was spayed, and she said oh,she had a male she wanted to breed. So the lady had no idea who I was and didn't know anything about my dog...so wierd. Actually though I recognized her as a customer that has been in the store I work at once or twice before (although I know she didn't know who I was). She brought her puppy in a couple months ago when we was about 12 weeks old. He was a poor example of the breed..could tell even that young. I remember her saying she didn't know if he was supposed to be a teacup or not. I ignored that but asked how much he weighed. At 12 weeks he weighed almost 4.5lbs. I told her a rule of thumb is to double the weight at 12 weeks and possibly add half a pound so I told her he'd probably be 9-10lbs fully grown. She couldn't believe that. Of course she was already talking about breeding him then because yorkies are so expensive and she wanted to make her money back (sick sick sick!) So anyways - she is already wanting to breed dog that is still a puppy and is going to be over standard. She's going tohave to find a female that is bigger than hers... puppies will be huge. People are retarded |
I get that question all the time, by the same stupid person who is just an associate. She wants me to breed mine with her cousin's maltese so that she 'can get a free dog'. When I informed her that he was neutered, she rolled her eyes and said 'WHY?!? Why would you take something like that away from him?' They really need to get a reality check. |
Ugh. I get that all the time! This lady stopped me the other day and was asking me if I wanted to use him as a stud...She called herself a breeder, but she was breeding her 8 lb female and 11 lb male. She was selling their unregistered puppies for $1000. |
