Dogs fighting :( My 1 yr old female Yorkies are fighting badly. Most of the time I have to break it up. One monment they are playing , sleeping , eating together. Than out of nowhere they fight. Very bad fighting it looks like they could hurt each other. And it looks like they are equal in ther fighting ablities This has happen ever since they had puppies. We have one pup from each litter still here. And we plan on keeping one pup for good. I have tried to give one Mom yorkie away but, I keep changeing my mind. I am hoping the fighting will stop after the pups are grown . Should I allow the fighting to go on until their is a winner? So one can be the AHLPA dog of the females? Anyone have any suggestion?:( |
My male and female fought for about a month before and three months after she had the puppies. I had to keep them completely seperated or they would fight. Eventually when they would get out, they would go for longer and longer before fighting and then stopped. I have had a mom and daughter fight at 2years and 3 years. I had to give one daughter to my mother. The two sons would fight when the girls did. I tried to let the boys fight it out one day by putting them into another room, but they didn't stop and we still had to break them up. They would draw blood, many times one would limp; then they all lick each other's wounds like they love one another. Now when the girls growl, Teddy runs to me for safety, I think Quattro won the boy battle. |
Debbie - I'm not sure what to say about this since mine are both altered. But I do know of another who just lost an adult male when he was attacked and killed by another alpha male and I'd hate for that to happen. I know they can be very aggressive when it is mating time and with pups. Hope it all works out for you. |
Does anyone think if the girls are spayed they would stop fighting so badly? I am going to fix Daisy and my Maltese Maggie. And Sissy & Lilly later. My Jack R *Buddy* is the Boss of all the dogs but, he is the only male He does show them and reminds them but does not hurt them and he is fixed. |
