How do you trim leg hair? For those of you that are brave enough to groom your babies on your own... How do you trim his/her leg hair without it looking kind of 'choppy'? Poochie's hair on her legs always comes out looking kind of 'carpet-like'... it doesn't smooth down, it sticks out here and there in tiny groups! I'll have to take a picture of it when I get home to show you... Everything else comes out fine on her body.... BTW, she is scared of anything that buzzes so I can't use clippers, just hair trimming scissors. Thanks in advance!! |
We use clippers with a guard on them. So that doesn't help you sorry ! |
I'll try to explain how I do it. I stand them up, and brush their leg hair I start from the front of their leg and slick the leg hair back, so it kinda looks like they are standing in front of a fan and the air is blowing their hair backwards. Then I trim that extra hair behind the leg as little or as much as you like. Hope you get a visual and I didnt confuse you :D |
Missy's Mom - darn it, I wish I would have heard this tip before I trimmed her last night... it sounds like what I was striving for. Instead, she has this adorable, layered body... and funny looking fuzzy legs! LOL It would be cute if I cut all of her hair like that, but I'm afraid she wouldn't look quite so yorkie-ish afterward... I think she'd look like a tiny schnauzer. hehehe |
that's it!! a good visual as to what her legs look like = schnauzer legs!!! kinda fuzzy and curly! ;) |
Lol! :p I am sure she is still very cute!! Her hair will grow out in no time and you can try again ;) |
Like my Mamma always says, "The difference between a good hair cut and a bad haircut is 2 weeks". LOL Even though the legs look a little choppy, you can take thinning shears to them to get rid of that look. Good luck! JULZ |
