Hahaha, your puupy sounds just like mine! I can't believe such a little guy gains complete control! |
The Ultimate Solution! Ok, I've found the ULTIMATE SOLUTION! hahahaha. The laying of your yorkie on his/her back trick to show who's dominate is definitely something good to exercise. I've gotten to the point of not liking to put my finger under his tongue. I feel it gets him a little more aggressive... which makes me more mad and escalates the situtation... although doing it long enough will eventually make him stop his bad behavor. Instead, I've just been putting a toy in his mouth and praising him for chewing the toy. Now, on the the Ultimate Solution.... BITTER APPLE SPRAY! This stuff has, without a doubt, minimized the crazy puppy attacks by far! At first, when Riley would start biting at our feet and running around the room aggressively, we simply spray our feet with Bitter Apple. He comes back for a nip, backs up with a sour face, and forgets about the attack. The alcohol in the spray can irritate your skin and burn. Instead of spraying it on our feet now; As soon as he starts to become aggressive, we spray it on the ground in front of him (not in his face)... he smells it and backs off completely. Sometimes it takes a couple sprays to break his attack mode. Definitely try this stuff!! Riley will attack once a day at the most, and sometimes not at all! In addition to the bitter spray, we go the potty training spray stuff. He went from going on the carpet anywhere he darn pleased, to going on the pads or outside 99% of the time! |

haha, your puppies sound exactly like mine.... Shes 14 weeks and goes crazy biting me, she even growls at me sometimes. I have to put her in timeout like every five minutes. I have been noticing though that its when she wants to play and I am busy doing something else. She starts acting out and tries to engage me in playing. When I move my hands away she just thinks I am playing with her! |

I need help:( Uno is only sweet and cuddly when he's tired...other than that all he wants to do is bite me......Today was the WORST...I was holding him and giving him a lil' scratch behind the ears and he bit my lip:( I seriously almost started crying...Not because it hurt, but because i'm just so frustrated with this....I can't hold my puppy, he's not sweet and cuddly...he's being a lil monster. He turned 12 wks today and my fingers can't take it anymore.... |
While Cesar Milan always reminds us that our dogs are not people, there are a lot of comparisons to be made! With puppies, like kids, you have good days and bad days. Yesterday, I thought my 5 month old Coby was finally turning the corner into being the angel that I want him to be. But this afternoon, he rudely reminded me that he is a puppy and not yet ready to be perfect. Patience, patience, and then some more!! Good luck all of us with new furbabies! |
You're certainly not alone here. Penny goes around like she lost her mind. I haven't tried the ouch yet, but I have tried spraying her with water - didn't work she liked it. I'm going to try the ouch and the penny can next. |

Here is an update on our Nina, born 3/22/07. She has calmed down a few notches as far as the nipping and biting us goes. She still has moments, but they are not as frequent. I am able to re-direct her to a chew toy or nylabone, or I put her in her pen and she usually immediately decides to take a nap! |
