Chemical cleaning sprays and vomiting This past Sat nite my sister in law brought out some lawn chairs. I was sitting in one while she was spraying the others with Lysol spray cleaner. Well, I got a face of the mist from the summer breeze and Sunday I was vomiting from 5am to 2pm. I got to thinking that our little yorkies could be getting facefuls of these spray cleaners while we are cleaning up their messes, etc. I know I felt like a canary in the coal mine. It really makes me think, we should keep chemical cleaner sprays away from our fur babies and everyone for that matter. It was awful. When read about a lot of the yorkie vomiting, I wonder if they got a faceful of chemical cleaner? P.S. Maxwell, at 6 months, was right there with me curling up on the bed, and waiting out the bathroom door, bless him. Very out of character for the wildman that he usually is. |
Sorry you got sick from the cleaning spray's but I agree with you. I always spray whatever right onto the cloth before cleaning instead of spritzing in the air. The newest cleaner by Clorox really scares me. It can be used anywhere even on baby's highchair and in the refrigerator around food! I would never use it that way. A year from now they will be telling us it causes cancer. Scary what they advertise. You really have to be your own judge. I don't trust manufactures. |
Oh... I'm sorry that happened to you, right after your nice time at Yorkie Day. :( I think our furbabies can sense when were not feeling well or somethings wrong and MaxwellHouse proved that. "Good Boy" MaxwellHouse. :) :aimeeyork Hope your feeling better. |
I heard that Lysol was one of the worst to use around our little furbabies...I believe there was a post about that once (I will try to search)...something about wiping up pee on the floor with Lysol....anyway, I try my BEST not to use anything that I know will harm the little ones....which, that is getting harder to find. I clean a lot of stuff with vinegar because it is sad to be good. I sure hope so! |
All the nasty chemicals is one of the reasons I changed over all my household cleaners to "Green" products. I use everything made by Melaleuca and I just love the products!!!!! |
lysol can be very nasty when inhaled for long periods, when i quite smoking i had my walls all cleaned and they used lysol, omg i couldnt even stand it, i had to go stay with my sis, it really made me sick, my whole house smelled like that for a good week, so i know how you feel:( since then i have never used it again, there are cleaners out now that dont have any harsh chemicals , everyday living is what i use now.and it works good, |
There's also the Method line of cleaners, at Target. They're all supposed to be "green" and safe, made with all natural stuff. I love the way they all smell, and there's a few that are unscented for very sensitive noses;) |
