getting spayed Kiwi is getting spayed in the morning. I was just curious at the cost others have paid to get a female spayed. We have been quoted $400.00. I thought this was a little high. Just curious what others have paid. |
I'm curious to know too. Around my area I've been given a range from $250 up to $400. They say it depends on the size, etc... |
Spay Roxee had hers done on June 7. I paid $153 for her to be done. She had no teeth pulled, just the spay. Good luck to your baby girl! Keep us posted on how she does. Thea and Roxee:aimeeyork |
I'm going to call for prices and an appointment in 2 weeks for Kamari. I'm  at the $400 cost. I'm hoping no more than $150. |
Morgan was spayed, microchipped and had 6 teeth pulled for alittle over $300 |
My vet charges around 139.00 for the spay and 40.00 for the elective presurgery bloodwork. Stella is getting spayed July 7 and he is going to have to remove several teeth which he quoted $7.00 to $9.00 a tooth. Where in NC are you? |
A normal cost for a spay around here is around $100, but one place I called quoted me $350! |
WOW I just had My katie spayed last month 160.00 plus 40.00 for micro chip |
I just got Sassy spayed today and it was $207 for the blood work and 2 teeth pulled |
I just recently changed vets...not because of his prices...personality conflict with one of his staff members. I was quoted for Lillie, who is 1 yr and hasn't had a heat yet, up around 400.00. Sadie, who is 3yrs and had 3 heats, over 500.00. I got a quote from my new vet today between 351.50 and 535.00...that is with an IV catheter 42.00 (optional) and wellness profile 72.00 (optional) and micro chipping 35.00 (optional) so if I decided to opt out of these three I would probably be around 200.00... I have met the vet (at a friends house) so when I bring the girls in to have their first health check with the new vet, I am going to discuss these optional costs with her. I don't plan on micro chipping but, I really feel the IV is a good thing,....I have to find out what a wellness profile is...I also have pet insurance which will pay 65.00 of each spay. I do expect Sadie to be higher where she is older...OH...and Lillie needs 1 tooth pulled...I don't know if she will charge for that...I would think where they are already out they would just pull it for no charge. |
OMG I have never heard of such high prices! No wonder a lot of people don't get their pets spayed or neutered! I had never heard of paying more than like $150 for a spay until the place that told me $350 and I thought that just sounded crazy... |
My Lexie is at the vet as I type this. She is being spayed, getting microchipped and having 2 teeth pulled. I also opted for the safety/care package that includes preop blood panel, nail trim, and IV. My total is $279.99. I love my vet and he is very reasonable. |
Lulu was spayed on Thursday. Here is the vet bill breakdown. Lulu weighs 2.5lbs. $40 - Exam $174 - Spay $7 - Turb (painkiller to go home with, 3 whole pills) $28 - Rabies Shot $24 - Amoxcillin $15.95 - Interceptor (heart worm pills) ____________ $288.95 * included removal of a couple baby teeth |
Here is our breakdown of costs Emmy was spayed at the same time she had a hernia removed in August of last year. The entire procedure including meds., food, a soft collar (to keep her from licking spot) was only 332.15. She had to stay with the vet overnight. The vet took her home with her and slept in the guest room with Emmy. She is a fabulous vet...the only problem is she is 4 hours away from our home. She is the vet in the town where my daughter lives now. Once she moves to Atlanta, we probably won't be able to use her anymore.:( The spay by itself is 140.00. In March we had to have baby teeth removed and got Emmy microchipped--the bill was only 190 then (microchip was 44.00). I was not sure if it was high, low, or moderately priced. I guess now I know it was NOT TO EXPENSIVE! |
I have a question... Is neutering for males about the same cost? Is it more or less invasive???? |
