Who woke me up??? You guys, I have never been so darn frantic in my life as much as I was last night! We went camping in Michigan over the weekend and of course we took both the girls along with my 3 skin kids and my oldest DD B/F. Hubby and I and the 2 yorks went to bed around 11:30.(in a tent) Some time I'm guessing early morning I was feeling for Lillie up at the top of my head (That's where she fell asleep) she was not there so I called her name 3 times! She did not come to me and I sat up quickly and called her name 2 more times, still she did not come to me. I nudged my husband and told him to give me the flashlight, I turn on the flash light and did not see Lillie anywhere in the tent! I hear outside someone eating the girls dog food! I shine the light to the front of the tent and see that the tent is unzipped a tad bit! I jump up as fast as I can and un-zip the tent and there is Lillie outside!!! I grab her and hold on to her for dear life! Kissing her and hugging her like no tomorrow! Waking everyone up yelling who left the D$&N tent unzipped?? I could have lost my baby last night! I cried and cried and just kissed her so much! I have no idea who or what woke me up, but someone was watching over me! I was never so thankful! |
Oh My, Missy. I would have had a stroke. Maybe she did it herself...check..did she grow "thumbs" over the weekend??? She would have probably just came back in and snuggled up with you after her snack. I hope the rest of the weekend was good for you. |
That must've been your guardian angel waking you up. How scary for you. Thank God everything worked out. I would've freaked out. |
OMG I'm so glad she was there. God was with you. |
I did freak out! Only thing I can think of is it was just open enough for her to stick her paw in it and nudge it open enough to get out. Lillie is so darn tiny, she could have got out with a tiny hole! Bet your bottom dollar that Mommy will make sure she never get's out again! We had a wonderful weekend aside from all the kids bickering! How did you guys deal with teenagers and kids who are 11&12???? OMG I think I was going to go crazy!!!!! Nothing pleased them! I wanted to toss them into Lake Michigan!!!! LOL |
I'm so glad nothing bad happened Missy. We sold our pop up tent camper, because I was afraid they would get out somehow. I've been thinking of maybe a large tent, but not now...I will continue to look for a hardshell camper. I just don't think I could stand it if one of them got out. |
oh Missy what a horrible alternative outcome that could have been!!! Someone was watching out for you and Lillie... talk about timing!!! other than this scary incident. how was camping for the first time?? any pictures to share?? |
That is the scariest thing! I used to take my Irish Setter and 2 cats camping. One night, Jenny, one of the cats was missing. I also cried and cried all night. I was sure we had lost her forever. We put the lantern up high just in case. Guess who just waltzed back into the tent in the morning? I was so grateful. |
Oh how scary. I am glad that all was okay! |
I'm glad this was a happy ending, so glad she didn't run off and the yorkie angel woke you up to get her. :) |
ug, I got ill just reading this. Scary!!!! |
how scary. thank goodness you woke up. |
oh wow, what a scare!!!! I can imagine how you freaked out and them the relief you must have felt when you saw her there! Thank God! |
Wow, Missy! So glad the baby was OK -- and that you refrained from throwing any teens into the lake.:p |

I don't even like to think about what I would have done if she went missing, good grief I can't stand hearing about all these missing babies. I just want it to end, this is just so darn devastating. |
