Build-A-Bear Clothes for our babies? Hello again!! I'm doing my christmas outfit shopping for Luna and I found the most gorgeous dress for her! See it here: http://www.buildabear.com/shop/produ...ProductSummary But I was wondering before I bought it if anyone here has bought clothes for their Yorkies at Build-A-Bear. Luna now weighs 3 lbs so I'm not sure how it will run size wise. I also like the fact that the clothes is super cute and NOT as expensive as "Yorkie clothes". Thank you all! :D |

Hi Melissa, I have bought from Build A Bear, and I love them! But, the clothes are a little to 'wide' for the little yorkies. They fit my 9 lb Shih Tzu well, but too big for Mei Mei. You could probably take the sides in and it would be a perfect fit!! I second Michaels! I bought Mei Mei some sweaters in the bear & doll section and they fit well. She is 3 lbs, 5 oz right now. |
Thank you all for your replies! :D Thank God I asked before being impulsive and buying that dress from build-a-bear. Dresses fit her always a bit too wide and they drag on the floor... I hate that! They get really dirty lol... anyhow Yes, my sister bought from Michael's for Luna!! She got her 2 dresses from there but again they fit her a little too wide. However, my father bought her a doll dress and it fit her perfect! He bought it in Orlando and we're from Miami, so we're going to have to look around to see if they have any similar down here. Thanks again! I'm so glad that our babies are small enough to fit into bear and doll stuff, let me tell you "yorkie clothes" is so expensive!! I just bought her a shirt that was 23 dollars! CRAZY! |
thath dress is cute, but i loooooooooooove the bathrobe.... imagine getting youre baby outa the htub and into that robe.......hehe |
I know I love the bathrobe as well! I think though that I'm going to buy the red dress for Luna, I cannot find anything her size around here for christmas! |
OMG! I got that dress for my Yorkie last week! Like you, I thought it was the CUTEST and had to have it for Bridgette's pics with Santa. Even though it's adorable, don't buy it. The only way you can put it on is if the velcro goes faces up, and it doesn't look pretty. It just doesn't fit right either. It needs to be returned. However, the t-shirts fit just fine.. I would just stay away from the dresses and maybe even the pants if you can help it. |

I was in Michaels the other day, got to the bear aisle with Mia to find a chihuahua and another yorkie modeling for their moms. TOO CUTE!! Mia can wear the bear sweaters at 3lb+, but they hang on a friends long hair chihuahua that is just at 2 lb. |
Ooooohhhhhhhh NOOOOO! My mother insisted on buying the dress, before I read chrstna's post. :( Guess I will have to return it! We'll have to wait and see... |
If the dress doesn't fit..... you can tack the fabric so that it fits snug around the tummy, its a really easy fix adn only takes a few minuits. |
Yeah, I was thinking of having to do some fixing to the dress... but we'll have to wait and see how it fits when it comes in ... I will let you all know! lol |
I just made my Snoodles a Xmas dress! You would be surprised how cheap it is. Also very easy. It is so cute! However, I did just go to that web site, and that velvet dress is darling! Too bad postage has gone up so bad. I hate adding in postage. Still can't keep hair clips in her hair. The little bugger! She rolls and scootches around until she gets them out! Looks like I will always have a little girl with no bows! Darn! Pat |
Ok, that dress was WAY TOO CUTE!!! I succumbed. But, I also bought my daughter a birthday bear for her 13th next week....after all, I could ship the dress for the same shipping as just the bear.....hmmmmm.......do you think I'm making up excuses to justify a new dress for Mia.....YES!!! |
Thank you Yorkie 24 you! I will certainly look for them. Hope I can get them in. Any suggestions? Do you put them in and them twist and put on again etc? or do you just twist them and then put them on? Haven't been able to get the bands I bought into her hair. They won't stretch. Thanks a lot--hope I can find them. Pat |
Gee Thanks a lot! I have it written down and will look for them. If you happen to come across them in the mean time, let me know! I appreciate your help! Maybe I can have a Yorkie with a bow in her hair! Pat |
OH MY GOODNESS!! Just an update! We got the dress in and well, it's HUGE! You were all right, build a bear dresses are way too big for our little babies, at least those that weight 3 lbs or less... yikeS! Will have to taylor or return the cute little dress... :( |
Thank you for your suggestion! I had forgotten about JoAnn Fabrics! I had tried Michael's and had no luck for a holdiay dress/sweater... but I will be sure to try JoAnn's! Thanks! |
Thanks Yorkie 24U! As I posted, I did get rubber bands at Wal-Mart. They weren't the ones you told me to get, though. Couldn't find them yet. These are Goody brand rubber bands. I have to put one on the bottom and then one on the top and put the bow in between. She does her darnest to get them out! But Ha! No luck. I'm sure now that I can get one to stay for more than 2 seconds she will get use to them. Thanks! Thanks! You would not believe the money I have spent on clips and bows of all kind. Will try sewing them on to the rubber band . Then I probably would not need the second rubber band! Pat |
All Right! Thank you so very much for your help. I will try it later today as I need a red one for her Xmas dress. One more thing! Do you position the bow on the hair first and then do the other twists? I would imigine so. Thanks so very much for all your help! I love her in a bow! I dressed her up yesterday in dress and bow and went to the post office. Could hardly get out of there what with the oohing and aahing. If I ever need a new man, I need only take her out for walks etc. Ha! Ha! The man at the post office was enthralled with her. Surprised me as he was a big big man. More a Pet Bull kind of man. Pat |
Your kidding? Gosh they were all enthralled with her. As were the patrons standing in line. Maybe they were afraid to say anything and have everyone mad at them! Ha! Thank you so very much for your help with the bows. I really really appreciate it. Now if she would only let me clip her nails without having a stroke it would be perfect. I couldn't believe it the other day when I plucked the hair out of her ears. She was wonderful! I thought what the heck is going on here! So maybe she will get better with the nails! Thanks Again!
